Many states or local governments restrictions on the keeping of wild animals. I do believe however that if you have legal permission to house an armadillo it is allowed however armadillos are nocturnal and will wake up in the night and forage. They also have a musky smell which some people dislike. They can also become aggressive or gain health problems in captivity like any other animal.

If you don't have a filter then get a VERY powerful one. Clean your tank once a month and do a 20% water change every 2 weeks. Get rid on any algae or rotten live plants. Feed your turtles in a different container, like one you would use for water melon but never use it for your food again. Buy water cleaners that are turtle safe, you can find them in the reptile section of most pet stores, and use it as directed. Make sure that your tank isn't over crowded. Hopefully this will solve your problem, I know how much turtles can stink so hopefully you won't have to live with it for too much longer.

The cost of a baby turtle will definitely vary over a wide price range depending on the type of turtle, and where you buy it.

The most common turtles bought in Australia are red-eared sliders and freshwater short-necked turtles, and these can vary anywhere in between $20-$80, (and sometimes over and below!) It is very hard to estimate how much a baby turtle would cost because i do not know which breed you were looking at.

I bought a freshwater short-neck baby turtle last week for $75 in South Australia. This price did not include the tank, basking rock, water heater, turtle food, health block, or any other accessories, and so all together (not including the tank, but including the turtle), I have spent roughly $270! (wow...lucky Tilly!)

Yes, any turtle, whether from a pet store or not, needs a water heater. The water temperature, for most aquatic turtles, should be from 74-80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Actualy, some species of box turtles, such as the three-toed box turtle are quite fond of water and like to swim regularly. The should be given a pool of water the is deep enough for them to get a good swim and they should be able to get into and our of it easily. The water must be kept clean as it can be a breeding ground for bacteria. Tap water is fine to use. Turtles are not fish, so the levels of chlorine in the water in their swimming pool would not be high enough to harm them.

Since I don't know exactly which species of turtle chose to lay her eggs,the length of incubation (or amount of time it takes for eggs to hatch) depends a lot on weather conditions. Temperature, humidity, rainfall, and other factors influence incubation. Generally, land turtle incubation ranges from 45-90 days.

Get that turtle to the vet immediately! A turtles shell is really a hard covering over their ribs. Once there is an opening in the shell the whole body will be infected and the turtle will surely die. So get that poor thing to the vet !

Feed him as much as he wants, daily if juvenile or every other day if adult, for 30 minutes. Scoop out and discard the extra or half eaten food. Some snapping turtles will develop their own feeding habits, an example is my baby snapper. He gorges himself every 3 days and refuses to eat in between. I have tried feeding him every day but he only eats every 3 days. When he does eat he gorges himself. He is a funny little turtle.

Every turtle is endangered including aquatic turtles and the other land turtles. All the turtles that live in the sea are definitely endangered by mostly all of the fishing nets. Aquatic turtles are endangered from people disturbing them or even destroying their habitat. If people really love turtles they should adopt one and keep them in captivity to try and make them not endangered anymore.Short neck turtles are endangered along with all the other turtles that exist. You can stop making turtles endangered by telling people to stop with the fishing nets and make more people adopt them to bring them in captivity and make the turtles live their hole life. Every 10 minuets their is one turtle dying from something like habitat disturbance or those fishing nets. Make a difference, do the right thing and if you can adopt one to prevent them to die and make turtles not be endangered.

Baby turtles are called hatchling turtles.

This is my opinon but I think it basically depends on what the turtle or tortise feels, or if their hiding, trying to hunt, or the time of the day.

Yes,turtles can reconize their own kind.but with sliders their so alike they can live together in smaller cages.Turtle species are mostly very different and you would have to have a tank that is about at least 100 gallons. ALOT OF MONEY!

Turtles walk quite low to the ground, so they pick up a lot of germs when they move about.

If a turtle has been in water (the sea, a pond, etc), they could have picked up germs from the water, including faeces from other species.

If your turtle has swollen feet, or any feet at all, there is a good chance it is a tortoise. Tortoises live on land and have feet; turtles live in the water and have flippers.
