Yes they will eat it and its not harmful to the turtle but this shouldn't be your turtles diet.

It's not dangerous. In fact, it's actually good for them! Turtles swallow small stones to aid their digestion. The stones help grind up the food in their stomachs. Turtles only have a beak-like mouth to help them break their food into smaller pieces. Since they don't have teeth and saliva to help break down the food before it reaches their stomachs, when it reaches their stomachs it is practically whole.

There are other reasons they might swallow stones, too (see the Related Link). I always thought my turtles were just really stupid, and were swallowing the stones because they thought they were food. Not so!

Try indroducing small feeder fish... if your turtle goes after and catches the fish, he/she will be fine in a pond/lake environment.

Turtles live in the water. How can they not breath in what they live in?!

Try small pellets of floating turtle food, wax worms and even small bugs...

If you have a new pet turtle it might not eat for the first couple days you have it so just leave it alone and let it get used to its new home

it depends on the type of turtle your talking about, turtles can live together but it is best to have one male ,one female or two females as the male turtles(depending on the type) can become igressive. I hope this helps:-)

I don't think that putting other living creatures in a turtle tank is good but it depends on which kind of turtle you still have in there!But i think Yellow Belly Turtles are fine with others usually.I have my own little yellow belly,Alex were not sure if it is a boy or girl yet but i think it is a boy because it has sharp claws.Hope you liked this information!~From Liz <3 Best info on turtles that i knew ;3-By the way if ur just putting one different animal in a turtle tank maybe,just maybe that could be fine.Byeeee!!
