I'm pretty sure it's a Bhaiband surname - Bhaiband is the higher segment of the Lohana caste. Thought the Lohanas are found all over India, particularly in Mumbai and Gujurat, the Bhaibands are mainly from the Sindh province, now in Pakistan.

In Peter's defense, I should say that he may not have had the scriptural advantage that modern Christians do! But surely Peter was present when Jesus talked about servanthood. Peter's speech and actions seem to convey his lack of understanding about what the Word of God calls him (and us) to do! However, the body of Christ has not been served well by this artificial division between the clergy and the laity (the people of God).
