How many years do cats normally live for?
18 years on average. I had one cat who lived to be 18, and one who lived to be 21. The one who died earlier was the one I expected to live longer, and I never expected the other cat to live for 21 years. Both of them were put down, the younger one had to be put down because a lump was growing in her mouth that was stopping her from eating, and the other one I could notice getting thinner each day, the vet couldn't even feel her kidneys, and she wasn't really eating. She had to be put down in November in 2008
Why does your cat cry after drinking water?
Cats dont usually gag after drinking water. If your cat does then i strongly recommend visiting the vet, as it may have something stuck in its thoat that gets disturbed when drinking water. You can wait for a few days and if the cat continues to gag then take it to the vet. Though i doubt it there also could be a problem with the water.
What does the mountain cat eat?
Primarily Rocky Mountain Elk, but then again it all depends on what type of wolf and wear they are at specifically.
What should you do when a cat is living under your porch?
I hav two of my own cats, but hav often had to deal with stray cats and homeless animals. Try to tempt it out ... show it you are a friend. Giv it some semi-skimmed milk or tuna .. maybe the milk first because it could be dehydrated, and milk is bad for cat's digestion, so food would be best later. leave the food out, then when you can, leave some ina cat basket, then try to catch it and take it to your local animal shelter. Good luck!
Animals are quite clever but not as clever as humans as animals have diffrent ways of surving and comunicating
Catnip is a herb mixture that cats like. If you take a sniff of catnip it will smell like tea. You can buy catnip at any pet store or Target, Kmart, or Walmart.
Do cats carry staph in their litter boxes and on their fur?
Toxoplasmosis is found in cat scat and may be damaging to a fetus if the mother has no prior exposure and antibodies to cats during the first trimester unless you've already been around cats a lot and are immune.
No they should remain the same.
-----------------------
It depends what light they're in, as ALL cats are tabbys, but you just can't see their stripes most of the time. The easiest places to see the stripes are the paws and the tail. --- No, not all cats are tabbies. Cats that are not tabbies are called selfs and you cannot see tabby markings anywhere. Your Siamese is a tabby or lynx-point Siamese. Not all shows accept this, but most do. If the markings are only on the tail and not on the face or legs, it may be considered a fault in breed standards.
Would a cat nurse kittens that didn't belong to her?
No. Because the kittens need the milk from their mother
AnswerYes, absolutely. If 2 female cats have kittens close to the same age, they will sometimes steal and nurse the kittens. Strong maternal instincts
Actually, it is pretty rare. I once owned 21 cats at the same time and the kitten can usually tell its own mother apart from the other adult females. It's not unheard of though so yes.
No, actually some cats like the sparkles on glitter, but if you mean do they like to eat it then yes, they do hate it because they don't like to eat glitter. Some like to look at it, though.
Can cat bites harm pregnant women?
Cat urine is not harmful to pregnant women or their unborn children. That is an old wives' tale. Cat urine contains ammonia, which means the fumes can be overpowering in a dirty litter box, but it will not harm you or your unborn child. The fact that it smells awful doesn't mean it'll hurt you.
Cat feces can carry a disease called toxoplasmosis, which can be harmful to pregnant women and their unborn babies. However, toxoplasmosis is a disease that only affects outdoor cats. If your cat is an indoors-only cat, you do not need to worry about toxoplasmosis.
Certain kinds of litters (specifically, the clay-based kind) contain toxins which are potentially harmful to humans. This is really only a problem when you pour the new litter in the box, or dig around in the box vigorously, as this releases a cloud of clay dust.
Instead of clay litter, try the crystal kind, such as Clear Choice Crystals or Fresh Magic. You can also try a corn-based litter like World's Best Cat Litter, but in my experience, the crystal litter is far superior. It lasts much longer, it controls odor better than any other litter, and there are no urine clumps to scoop. Instead, the urine is absorbed by the crystals, so you only have to scoop the poop. It also tracks much less (meaning, far less of it gets kicked out of the box onto the floor).
Yes, they do. Sometimes they are more patient, and wait until you suspect nothing. Cats have long memories and can hold a grudge for a long time. So be nice to them.
Why Do Dogs and Cats Chase Laser Pointers?
Because that is the way they have evolved. A cat's senses, particularly eyesight, is very sensitive to motion. Cats like to ambush prey, meaning they will creep up as close as possible, then pounce. Movement of the prey shows where it is, and allows the cat to make a accurate pounce.
What happens if your cat drinks from your fish bowl?
It could be the cat is getting enough water from his food if being fed canned or pouched food.
Cats are notoriously bad drinkers, even when they are thirsty. This is because they have evolved to get all their needed moisture from their prey (their ancestors were cats that lived in very dry and arid environments where water was hard to come by). It is a trait that has been passed down over the thousands of years.
There are several things you can do to increase how much water your cat is intaking. By far the easiest option is to feed a wet food diet. Canned or pouched food has anywhere between 60 to 80% water. Seeing as in the wild a cat's prey is around 70% water, wet food provides a cat with more than enough water each day.
If you feed dry food, it may be ideal to and incorporate at least some wet food into the cat's diet each day, so your kitten gets at least some water.
Another way to increase water intake is to leave a tap on, or purchase a pet water fountain. Many cats are fickle when it comes to water and will only drink fresh moving water. A running tap or fountain keeps water constantly moving and fresh, and both methods are very successful in enticing a cat to drink more water.
If your cat is male, it is especially vital to make sure he is thoroughly hydrated. Male cats are much more susceptible to urinary tract infections (UTI's) which is often caused by not enough water over a period of time.
There can be many things that can make cats jumpy. Cats have a 6th sense, they can sense energy that humans can't. A cat may start to act jumpy before an earthquake because they can sense the energy coming from miles away.
Another answer: Cats are very cautious and curious-your question is not specific enough to provide a good answer.
PS I wish there were some way to get these lines to go away...

How should you introduce your new kitten to your old dog?
Well, with my cat and my new kitten, I slowly introduced them, but if they became uncomfortable I simply separated them. So I recommend just taking it slow and not to rush or form them to be friends. They now play together and really enjoy each others company.
Can cat food be eaten by humans?
No, it is not ideal to feed a dog cat food. Dogs love cat food because cat food has much more protein and fat in than dog food does. Cat food does not have the correct nutrients a dog needs - cat food has lots of added nutrients that cats cannot synthesize themselves but dogs can, so dogs fed on cat food can get too much of certain nutrients, and also become overweight from too much protein and fat.
Why does your new 4 month old kitten not stop purring and then come up to you and start meowing?
Well, either it is hungry, wants to play, or wants attention. sometimes it might want you to open a nearby door. it really depends on the cat.

What do cats drink other than milk?
Special cat milk that is especially designed for them is best. If you give them human milk they get an upset stomach. Cat milk isn't that expensive and its not hard to get hold of either. :)
How can you stop your cat from peeing in the mulch?
Unfortunately, cats will do their business wherever the substrate is soft enough to bury their waste.
The best way you can stop cats from digging in your mulch and most other parts of your garden is to buy one of those cat sillhouette features ith the glass eyes. These are well known cat repellers as they look like another cat staring. As staring is a form of challenge to cats, they will generally get uncomfortable and stay away. They definetely won't do the toilet anywhere near it.
Alternatively, some more natural methods would be laying twigs (without leaves) on top of where they are doing it, planting plants such as geranium, lavender and rue, making hazelnut shell mulch or keeping the soil moist by giving it a quick spray with the watering can or hose a couple of times on a dry day (cats hate muddy paws).
