Some of the best canned foods would be ones that have a high meat content (labelled as Chicken, Turkey, Tuna, etc.) as the FIRST ingredient and free of corns/grains. "Cheap" store brands will only have "Meat Derivatives/By-Products" as the first ingredient (this is the leftover bits of an animal such as feet, fur, feathers, lungs, intestines etc.), which results in poor quality food and extremely low nutritional value.

Stay away from lower-quality brands, as these foods are often packed with carbohydrates - "filler" in the way of corns and grains, none of which cats can digest. Grain is used instead of meat because it is cheaper to produce.

You should not put flea meds for dogs on cats. They are much too strong and will make the cat very sick if not actually kill it. If you have done this by mistake, the cat should be bathed thoroughly with a gentle shampoo IMMEDIATELY. Do NOT use a flea shampoo to bathe the cat!

Honey is acidic and could give you a pink eye if you don't wash it off immediately. Since canned cat food contains meat, I would not want to leave it out any longer than I would be comfortable leaving meat out that I eat. So, I would not suggest leaving it out uncovered for very long. Usually half an hour at the most. It is best to put out enough food that the cat can eat in one sitting and have none left over.

Generally kittens begin to sniff out adult food at 7 weeks. They may try sooner or later, but 7 to 8 weeks is when it is experimented. A kitten formula is ok or even an adult food is fine as long as it is not a dietary formula they need their nutrition. If they try to eat hardfood just monitor them.

i used to feed my cats figaro cat food with excellent result. i have new kitty's now and greatly disappointed to learn figaro no longer manufactured.i would sure love to be able to get some of that stuff.anyone know anything that could help even if its only to say that it is impossible to buy figaro anymore.please help me if you can (smile).
