The difference is the bore diameter, so if you've got a head off you can measure it. A 350 has a 4" bore, a 305 is 3.75".

If you are asking about the sprocket bolted to the front of the cam, you would need to remove the timing cover and remove the 3 bolts on the front of the sprocket.
If you are asking about the gear on the back that drives the distributor, it is integral and cannot be pulled.

Any cam will fit in the hole, but that's not to say that it will produce the right amount of lift and duration to suit the motor.
It's also possible to put in a cam with so much lift it will cause the valves to hit the pistons.

Yes, but it will drop the compression a little (64cc vs. 58cc chambers), and the bigger valves will make more top end at the expense of some low end torque. Also, if they really are camel hump heads (never heard of camel hump heads with anything other than 2.02, 1.60 valves)they may not have accessory holes drilled in the ends.
It's probably not an upgrade.
