Sounds like the horn is not making a ground. Did you do anything with the horn? What else didnt work before you replaced the fuse? I have the same problem. Prior to replacing the fuse and getting the clicking back, the horn stuck and ran continuously, which popped the fuse. Another question: where is the actual horn located on a '98 Escort? Thanks. Same problem here. My horn button clicks, but I have constant 12VDC at the horn terminal. The horn itself is behind passenger side headlight, above bumber bracket. Can you say "scraped knuckles?"

Drain the Cavaliers radiator. Remove the top radiator hose, and the inlet pipe. Take the thermostat out from under the inlet pipe and replace it. Reinstall the pipe and hose, then refill the radiator.

it is located on top of the engine on the drivers side. It has a connector and a vacume plastic hose hooked to it. Very easy to get too.It has a lot to do with fuel delivery if it is not working because it tells the computer at what altitude the vehicle is operating, the computer uses this info to control the amount of fuel that the fuel injectors are putting into the engine.If it is working correctly it should have about 3 volts on the side going back to the computer. Most cars made after 1996 have a MAF (meter) sensor instead, which does the same thing sensing the amount of air that is entering the engine through the air filter hose located right after the air filter.When it gets dirty it quits working and it can be removed and cleaned. When it does not work people seem to think that the reason their is a lean or rich code on the computer it is automatically the 02 sensor. Not so as autozone tells people.It most likely is a dirty MAF air flow meter not reporting to the ECM (eloctronic control module)which controlls fuel delivery.

Pull back the upholstery in the trunk near the light to see the backside of the taillight assembly. You will see a black piece of plastic with wires running into it. This assembly holds the bulb and screws into the red tail light assembly. Lightly twist it counter-clockwise (facing the rear of the car) to unattach the light wiring and pull it. From there you can rock the bulb a little as you pull it out. Plug in the new light, insert the assembly back into the tail light, and twist the opposite direction to snap it back into place. Should take you less than 5 minutes from start to finish. You do not need to remove the entire light assembly to access the bulb.

3057LL bulbs are what I used.

There are only three mounting points. Next to the coolant fill bottle,underneeth the engine by the timing chain housing, and on the drivers side of the transmission by the left front wheel.

You, my friend, need a new blower motor. My beretta did the same thing. Eventually even the high won't work. A replacement will run about 35 bucks at your local salvage yard.

The easy way to open the hood manually on a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, when the cable is not working is to put the car on a hoist and use a long pole to trip the hood latch. Then lower the vehicle and open the hood the rest of the way. Replace or repair the cable for the hood latch before closing the hood.

1.Put the subwoofer in a sealed or ported box.

2.Get an amplifier(produces more wattage) that is suitable for the subwoofer you have.

3.Get a wiring kit from about any place with auto stereo equipment.

4.Connect the power wire from the amp to the batteries +

-Connect the memory to the blue wire on your radio to your amp.

-Connect the signal wires from the radio to your amp.

-Connect the ground to a well grounded area on your car to the amp(make sure its not too long).

5.Make sure everything is secure and tightened well.

6.Connect the subwoofer to the amplifier with at least 18 gauge wire.

7.Turn on your car.

8.CRANK THE BASS!!!!

Chances are that the overdrive solenoid (forgive my spelling) inside the transmission needs replaced. Not a job for the light-hearted.

It can be a multitude of things.Like the egr valve is blocked up with carbon,IAC (idle air control) on tbi is dirty or sticking,map sensor is bad (on the firewall).I would suggest getting a obd1 scanner and check for codes at the port for it driver side towards the fuse box(or take it to auto zone or advance auto for a free scan).I can list tons of why but,is your ride automatic or manual?This matters because if auto the TCC solenoid could be bad and cause the car to stall in drive,reverse or coming to a stop.In short part has to replaced and transmission fluid changed to correct this.In short more details like engine 2.0 ohv and transmission (auto or manual) help narrow down things.I have owned my 85 cav 14yrs and KNOW these cars so isolating the problem is not that hard most of the time.

In short -- it can be any of a number of things -- have a mechanic check it out.

Some models do not have a dipstick. There is a plug in the back of the tranny that you pull. with the vehicle running in park and the fluid warm, the fluid should be level with the hole. It will drain out if there is to much. The fill is ontop, there is a red plug that is hand screwed in.

there are two fuse boxes. one under the hood, on the drivers side between firewall and battery. the other is inside the car, right behind the dash. you can access it when you open the door.

Remove the retaining ring from the top of your 1999 Chevy Cavalier ignition switch. Slide the ignition switch out and remove the wiring harness from the end of it.

its located behind where the large upper coolant hose connects into the engine un bolt that and bam thermostat... just as a note do this prior to driving anywhere it'll be hot otherwise.

locate leak , if it is close to a union such as a clamp or going from rubber to metal line, try tightening clamp or cutting a small length off rubber hose and applying a new clamp

The z24 models have a 2.4L DOHC engine.If you look at the engine,on the passenger side it is flat.A chain goes all the way around that part on the inside.The chain turns two camshafts(intake and exhaust) and the water pump. So,the answer is "no" it has a timing chain.

The front turn signals on my 2002 Beetle Turbo S can be popped out by carefully inserting a flat screw driver on inside the lower edge and pressing down on the metal spring clip that holds the signal lamp assembly in. It will then pivit up and out. It's pretty simple, but be careful not to scratch your paint.

It is located in the washer fluid reservoir.
