Follow the top radiator hose to the engine. The top radiator hose is clamped to the thermostat housing. Two bolts fasten the housing to the engine. On V8's it bolts to the intake manifold.

They just pull off.... NOT very easily though. Chances are, they will be loose when you put them back on (if you reuse them) so you'll need a little glue when you put them back on. They are simply pressed on to the levers.

Generally, yes. However, it does depend on what the car was originally. Was it a six cylinder car? Did it have a rare engine/transmission combo? Was the car original before it was cloned? There ARE circumstances where an original non-SS Chevelle could be worth more original than it would be worth as an SS clone.

The original paint color of a 1969 chevelle transmission dip stick was black.

Possible bad seal or scarred balancer, or possibly pcv system not working. Remove the oil cap, and with the engine running, put your hand over the hole with the engine running. There shouldn't be much pressure, no pressure, in fact, just air moving in and out rapidly. If you're getting a buildup of much crankcase pressure, it can damage a seal and blow oil out.

On the firewall, passenger side. You'll have to remove the fender to get to it.

You have to remove the passenger fender well to get to it. After you remove it, unbolt it and unplug it and it's out. VERY simple to replace, NOT so easy to get to though.

Most all motorcycle have the vin number on the steering head (that is located behind the headlight or fairing. If it has a fairing it will be hard to see. If the frame is the original there should be a sticker or tag located there on one side with the numbers on it and stamped on the frame on the other side. All HONDA goldwings model are located there..

If I recall, that year, the SS emblem on the rear of that car, comes via a black rubber insert, on the pass side of the car, which bolts to the bumper.

Remove the dash cover. There is 2 screws in the top of the glove box. Then on the drivers side to the center is about 4 or 5. Remove the dash cover and you have access to the back of the instrument panel. The light sockets turn 1/4 turn to come out.

If you cut the housing down to fit the chevelle it will work but to just take and try to put it under the chevelle it's too long.

Multiple Chevrolet assembly plants. Arlington, Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, and Baltimore Maryland just to name a few. Basically any plant that assembled Chevelles also assembled Chevelle Super Sports.

Remove the rear interior side panel. You'll have to remove the back seat to do this. To remove the back seat, remove the bottom first. It's spring loaded, so you'll have to push down and back to get it to pop loose, then just lift it out. It can be a real pain to get it out. The seat back fastens with two screws that you can get to once the bottom is out. Remove the screws and unhook the top by sliding it upward. Once the seat is out, remove the window handle and any screws that hold the armrests (if it has them) and the panel in place. Carefully remove the panel. Chances are it has clips holding it to the body as well, so you'll need to CAREFULLY pop them out as you go. Once you have the panel removed, unbolt the window regulator so you can slide the glass out of the tracks. Then carefully pull it out.

Most likely vapor lock. Make sure the fuel lines aren't close to anything that gets hot, especially the exhaust. I just thought of another reason that I forgot about. It actually happened to me once on a 1970 Cutlass, but it would also apply to your Chevelle because they use the same part. Check the ignition coil. When they get old and start to dry out (die) they will work when cold but not when they are hot. I should have remembered that sooner because it gave me fits, but it DID happen in 1989, and that was a LONG time ago. Vapor lock is still the more likely culprit though.

the 8.2 is the weaker of the 2 as the axles are smaller, the 8.5 is a super strong rear end, almost as strong as the 12 bolt.

the 138 code is part of the VIN. It is the first three numbers of the VIN number. One example of what it would look like is 138377k144235. This VIN would code out as a 1967 Chevelle SS396 2 door coupe. 13837 defines the GM division, model, and body style. The K is the factory code, in this case, the Leed's plant in Kansas City, Missouri. The last six numbers are the sequential production numbers, the first 1967 Chevelle would start at 100001 and go from there. 13867 would be a SS396 two door convertible. The 138 VIN code only applies to '66-'69 super sport Chevelles because the SS396 was it's own model for those years. All other years, it was an option for the Malibu trim package, which makes identifying a true SS nearly impossible with the VIN alone because for example, in 1970 a V8 Malibu with a 307 has the same VIN code as an LS6 super sport does: 136.

With a low rise intake, yes. With a high rise, well that depends on how tall of a high rise intake you use. Externally, a 572 is the same size as a 396/427/454, so as long as you don't use an overly tall intake/air cleaner, you should be fine.

No, it would not be able to handle engine braking.

That doesn't sound right. Maybe try a different gage.
