How do you change fuel filter in 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt?

    • 1

Find the fuel filter. The fuel filter is between the feed pipe and the fuel injectors. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system by removing the fuel pump fuse and allowing your Cobalt to run until it stalls.

    • 2

Disconnect the negative cable on the battery. Follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the fuel injectors until you find the filter. The fuel filter on a Chevy Cobalt is located on the right side of the vehicle just behind the front passenger side wheel. Place blocks behind the rear wheels and lift the Cobalt with a jack to gain access.

    • 3

Remove the filter from the clip holder and clamp the fuel feed hoses. Replace the filter and attach the feed hoses. Remove the clamps to restore free avenues for fuel. Reconnect the battery cable.

    • 4

Start the ignition. Inspect the feed hoses at the connections to the filter and make sure there are no fuel leaks.

Key wont come out on 2007 Chevy Cobalt?

Under the steering wheel column, there is a black rubber cover that snaps into a 1.5' x 1.5" hole. Pry it out with a screw driver. Up inside the square hole is a small lever that you can move with your finger to release the key. The only way I could feel this lever was by inserting the middle finger of my left hand up into the hole. A person with very heavy fingers such as a carpenter or plumber might not be able to do this. This process was described in several forums, and even though I knew the lever was there, it took me several minutes to find it. Two mechanics at a Chevy dealer couldn't find it, but I found it myself. It's a small flat horizontal surface that will move sideways to the left when you push on it. If you can't feel it, it's possible you might be able to see it with a bright flashlight. Chevy puts it there if the battery goes dead while in Drive, and the shift lever can't be put into PARK, you push this lever to the left to release the key. After I figured this out, I discarded the rubber insert, so it will be easier for me to remember to do this if I have to in the future. God bless America and Cobalt owners too.

What brand of spark plugs should you use in a 2007 Chevy Cobalt?

Brands of spark plugs do not really matter. If they sell it in an autoparts store, it'll make your car run. However, certain brands or styles of spark plug provide better surface area to create the spark, which can lead to better fuel efficiency and improved horse power. Generally, you get what you pay for. For more information on which spark plugs do what, simply go in to your local autoparts store and ask the person at the desk.

Note: Although brands do not matter, MAKE SURE you have the right size.

How do you reset a radio that has been locked in a Chevy Cobalt?

I had this problem many times when I first got my 2005 Cobalt in 2005. The tech's would reset it somehow but it would always happen again and sometimes become "unclocked" on it's own. Eventually the whole radio/CD player was replaced under and it has not happened again. So it seems like you may need to head to the dealership. Sorry!

Where is the oil filter located on a 2007 Chevy cobalt ss supercharged?

First read the owner's manual that came with the vehicle. If for some reason you do not have one, the oil filter is built in the engine (no more external canister). Unscrew the oil filler cap (the cap where you put the oil into the engine). Remove the black plastic cowl that covers the engine. You will see a black round circle with a nut on top, just forward of the oil filler cap. This is where the filter is located. Use a 32mm or 1 1/4 socket to remove the cover. Remove the oil filter and seal. Replace with new oil filter and lube the new seal. This is plastic so be careful not to over tighten it when putting it back on. It can be damaged easily if you over tighten it.
