Depending on where you live if you live in the country you most likely have a septic tank that's where it is. If you live in the city you have a sewer system and that's where it is. I am not totally sure but try to feed it and clean its cage and regular things like that plus, dont make sudden movents or anything that might scare it. And dont rush it my petting it if its not ready but your chinchilla will probally get used to you anyways. Hope this helped!
