- Slifer's attack power can potentially rise above Obelisk's, but sometimes it's hard to keep cards in your hand.
- Obelisk can destroy all monsters on the field at once by tributing two monsters (including itself), but you can't battle. Slifer can destroy any monster Normal or Flip Summoned if it has 2000 DEF or less, but it doesn't work on monsters that are Special Summoned (which proves to be difficult since Special Summoning is much more prevalent than before).
You can make a deck centered on one of these cards to cover up some of their weaknesses or improve their strong points.

The monster in question would likely be very powerful, but it would be difficult enough to summon that I doubt it would be worthwhile. Plus, you've got to consider that Horakhty and Slifer haven't been released as tourney-legal cards.
