The amount of data that can be stored on a disk depends in part on the File System used. Common types are NTFS, FAT 32 and FAT 16.

The main limitations of linear arrays are

1. The prior knowledge of number of elements in the linear array is necessary

2. These are static structures. Static in the sense that memory is allocated at compilation time their memory used by them cannot be reduced or extended.

3. Since the elements of these arrays are stored in the these arrays are time consuming this is because of moving down or up to create a space of new element or to occupy the space vacated by the deleted element.

The purpose of refreshing your desktop is to redraw or reorder your icons if a change has been made. Refreshing the desktop does NOT dump or free ram and it does NOT speed up the performance of your computer at all.

Example: If I delete a program, lets say an antivirus or such, and it deletes all of the files and folders that go with it, but it doesn't ( for some odd reason ) delete the icon on the desktop, if you right click and hit "refresh" it will remove the icon from your desktop.

An anti-static mat and an anti-static wrist strap are two tools you can use to help prevent static electricity from damaging computer components.

If you don't have such tools, then you should take other precautions such as standing on a hardwood floor while working, and touching a metal pipe or the screw on an outlet cover before working. You should also avoid touching the pins or traces of the components. For instance, handle cards by the metal bracket and the edge of the cards. Temperature and humidity are also factors, and you should avoid working during cool, dry weather unless you follow the precautions and/or use anti-static devices.

It isn't so much that it is important not to do so as much as it not being helpful if you do. If your operating system is crashed, then how can you read the critical system files from any external media? So backing up such files may not be helpful. However, if you do back them up in an easily readable format, you might be able to enter the console ("DOS") mode and manually copy specific critical files by hand and fix the problem.

Another possible problem is if you back up the system files, do a Windows update, and then restore the out of date system files over top of the newer ones while restoring user data. This not only puts the older files back and causes whatever vulnerabilities or problems that were fixed, but also cause confusion for the Windows Update process. The system may report the correct files but you have the incorrect files. Plus if you get a mixture of new and old system files, instability or crashes may occur.

The windows is not recognizing the program it should assign to run a file. the simplest is to select a program and right click on it and got to properties then just assign the program that you want to run that kind of file and click ok and apply to all. that is how you are going to assign programs to all file extentions.there are many disscussion on internet and they give registy file that solves problem.

To organize the way that files are stored on a computer disk, so that all the information belonging to a file, is stored on a single contiguous area on the disk.

The main one is the disk wears out from contact with the head, and has limited storage capacity.

Maybe... but you would need to find out the exact dimensions of the current one and then look for others that are bigger. And a considerable amount of skill and care would be required to do the transplant.

Generally speaking it is an error in the web page or program design which is trying to tell the computer to do something that is 'invalid'. The invalid parameter message is usually followed by a short blurb telling you what line the error is on.

You need to count how many ports you have filled and then find out how much of memory it is in total. Then check the BIOS summary for amount of memory recognized. It will give you answer to your question.

The above will only verify the presence of RAM, not whether or not it works correctly or reliably. (Obviously, if it's not being detected, there's a problem- but that could be the motherboard too!)

The most reliable method of testing memory is to use a benchmark program such as MemTest 86, WinRAM tester, or a stand-alone hardware based memory tester (which you can buy online). These tools will run repetative functions through the memory to verify it's function. Typically, MemTest 86 is the most reliable of the bunch, as most hardware testers only test as far as the BIOS does (just checks if the memory is responding). MemTest 86 and others will also test for reliability, bad memory clusters, timing errors, and more.

Cookies get saved to your computer when visiting sites. So a cookie of a website can't be saved it you haven't visited that particular website.

The explanation for that may be that the site was visited a by user of silent through a virus and the history cleared but the cookie not deleted

It probably whines because it's hot and the fan is working overtime. Check that there is a good airflow and no dust blocking the grills.

Something else more serious that can cause noisy operation is a damaged hard drive. Whenever you hear unusual noises, be sure that you back up your important files in case of a hard drive or system crash.

One other noisy part of a system is an overactive CD/DVD drive. These are supposed to run if you are backing up automatically to a DVD, but occasionally they will continue to run if there is a bad or scratched disk that is preventing reads.

It's pretty rare these days, due to the advances in the stages of manufacture for the hard-drive. Bad clusters - are areas of damage on a computers hard-drive. during a diagnostic scan, it's possible to 'mark' these bad clusters, so that the computer bypasses them when it needs to write information onto the disk.

Dump files are reports of what happened to the system at the moment before it failed. If you delete the file your system should continue to work without problems.
