Are photograpic memory and eidetic memory the same thing?

My brother-in-law and his therapist claim that he (my brother-in-law) has an "eclectic memory". Is there such a phenomenon or are they confusing an "eidetic memory or a photgraphic memory" with the word eclectic? In addition, are an eidetic memory and a photographic memory one in the same phenomenon or are they separate entities that are often confused with one another? If they are separate entities, what makes them different frrom one another? Thanks! Bjamesmitchell1951@yahoo.com

What does it mean when a computer says it has 4GB ram and 2 modules does it have 4gb ram or 8gb?

The computer totals up the amount of memory installed, so it has a total of 4gb spread over 2 memory sticks, which makes each RAM card 2gb.

What is termination voltage in DDR3 RDIMM?

DDR3 works with 1.5V supply,so it needs a termination voltage half of it i.e 0.75V

LDDR3 works with 1.2V supply,so it needs a termination voltage half of it i.e 0.6V

How many bits does it take to represent the number 457?

When you convert this decimal number to the binary format, we have 111001001 that has 9 digits so 9bits is required to represent it in normal case. To convert decimals to binary visit http://acc6.its.brooklyn.cuny.edu/~gurwitz/core5/nav2tool.html

Why was the battering ram important?

because it helped Assyrians conquer their enemies

How do you calculate the speed of the RAM?

The speed of the RAM is based on how large the RAM's storage space is. Most modern computers have 2-4 GB of RAM, and the speed is based off of that storage space. The speed of the RAM is the same across all models and sizes of RAM because all types use the same type of memory. The only way speed can be decreased is if the progam(s) you are running exceed the amount of RAM that is in your computer. Putting more GBs of RAM in your computer will not increase the speed in any way, it just allows you to run more programs without decreasing speed.

How do you distinguish 184 pin from 168 pin memory?

While 184-pin DIMMs and 168-pin DIMMs are approximately the same size, 184-pin DIMMs have only one notch within the row of pins

How do cache memory relate to ram?

In the most technical sense: Cache is RAM.

What matters is application, however. System memory (What most people think about when they say "RAM") is about storing processes and their data.

Cache on the other hand, is more geared for predicting what data will be used most and soonest and trying to keep that data on hand. Cache memory is considerably faster than system memory, but it contains far less capacity as it's about holding tidbits of information it might think are useful.

Another difference is this: System memory is entirely visible to the operating system, as it needs to manage the memory. Cache, on the other hand, is entirely transparent to all software on the system, including the operating system, and is accessed at the processor's discretion. If the CPU recieves a request for data that the cache reports it has, the CPU will recieve that data instead instead of trying to get the data from the much slower system memory.

Which is not a type of memory?

It is impossible to tell things which are not a type of memory.(they are just so many!)

So, the types of memory are:

  1. Magnetic Memory- Hard disk, Floppy etc.
  2. Optical Memory- CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disks.
  3. Flash Memory- Pen drives, memory cards etc.

What is i-ram?

The i-RAM is a pseudo-solid-state drive produced by Gigabyte and released in June 2005. It has 4 DDR RAM DIMM slots.

What RAM is considered volatile storage?

Random Access Memory on any computer only works when the computer is running. No computer running means no data in RAM.

Also: RAM is volatile storage because it can onlyhold information if an electric charge is not running through it, which makes it unstable. This is why they call it "volatile." As soon as the power in the computer is shut off, whatever was in the RAM will be wiped out. The hard drive would be an example of non-volatile memory, because it will hold information written to it even when the computer loses power.
