Ping is a computer network tool, that estimates the round-trip time for a data packet between a computer and the target host (usually in ms). There is no quick-fix to reduce your ping, a good server and a good connection to it helps. If you're running wires all over your house to connect to the web then this tends to increase ping (bad), as there is a greater chance of interference hence data loss. Well first of all you need to be sure that you have the HDD in question installed properly either using sata cable or ide cable. You also need to have the Hdd in questions jumper set properly. If you don't know what a jumper is, it is a small usually black peice of plastic wrapped metal that makes contact between two points. This is located near where the cables plug into the back of the hdd. Once this is set and windows is loaded check in windows explorer to see if it appears. If not go to your desktop right click on My Computer then go to Manage. Once in the new manage window go to Disk Management. Locate your new hdd here. Once you have located it you will most likely have to format it unless it is already formatted. Right click your new hdd and select format. Here you can add the label for the hdd file system (FAT32 gives you the most room) leave allocation size at default and select ok. It may ask you if you want to proceed and select yes or ok. Once this process is completed you should have both Hdd's functioning.
