The crime control model and the due process model Which aspect of the system do you believe?

This question is more appropriate for a poll as it is a matter of personal beliefs. The due process model is concerned more with individual rights versus the crime control model's concern for a more orderly society with little regard for individual rights.

I personally believe more in the due process model rather than the crime control model. I believe more in, say, my right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures, or making self-incriminating statements than the government's right to something like "we don't need no stinking Miranda warnings, want to taste the rubber hose again?" Who's next?

How many inmates are housed in auburn prison system?

The Auburn System is not a single prison, but a model or theory upon which a prison is planned or run. The Auburn System used the old Quaker idea of solitary confinement (Walnut Street Jail after the 1790 addition) and brought the prisoners into a common area for work assignments. It was an adaptation of the Pennsylvania System, (Eastern and Western States Penitentiaries built in 1829) which kept prisoners in their own cell to do work.

The influence of the Auburn System is seen in just about any prison industry system.

Stealing means that you take something which does not belong to you Under what conditions is this okay Under what conditions is not okay?

Stealing is usually bad. When you take things that are not yours, you could get in to huge trouble and i hope nobody would steal. On the other hand, when it says free and you take it without asking, i guess that's fine. Depending on your age. If your an adult then you could take something free without permission, but as a child, you have to ask for parent's permission. also depending on what you want to take.

--

Stealing (Theft) can be defined as :

Dishonest appropriation of property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it.

Theft under NO conditions is acceptable. The taking of belongings of another person who legally own that item is wrong. Taking items from a person who illegally has them is also theft.

Another View: SHORT ANSWER: Taking anything without permission, that does not belong to you, is NEVER lawful

Is it the law that all Jails Prisons and Penitentiaries have a Psychiatric Ward?

No. It is not the law that all Jails, Prisons, and Penitentiaries have a Psychiatric Ward. If medical personnel at a prison determine that a particular prisoner needs psychiatric treatment, they send him to a prison with a psychiatric ward. The Federal Prison at Marion, Illinois, has a psychiatric ward for Federal Prisoners. The Federal Prison at Pensacola, Florida does not have a Psychiatric Ward. In fact, it does not have any wards. It has cottages and other free standing buildings. Prisoners are not allowed to cross a 4 foot wide white line painted on the pavement unless they are on a work detail.

Which states do not allow bail bondsmen to operate?

I know for a fact that Kentucky does not. Trust me cause my grandma got conned into putting her house up for bonds because the bail bondsmen aren't allowed. I believe that the other states that operate under the commonwealth laws do not allow it either. Good luck.

update by tsauce35: I learned that, while the states have many different and complex laws regarding who may post bond, the following states outlaw commercial bonding and bounty hunting: Illinois, Wisconsin, Oregon, and yes, Kentucky.

How can I find out if an inmate is in the work release program?

Normally, this depends on what level of security the inmate has been assigned. Were released is often offered to inmates who are on minimum-security or lower (such as community security). The inmate will fill out a form and submit it to the proper staff member for review. The inmate must already have a job, which must be verified before work release can be approved.
