Crayons and Markers

Crayons and markers are often the first writing implement a child ever has their hands on. Both crayons and markers come in a very wide variety of colors and qualities. Some types can be picked up at the local grocery store, and are responsible for the majority of artwork found taped to fridges. Other varieties are of a much higher quality, and are used by commercial artists to create much more complex work.

Is there a white crayon in the original 8-pack of Crayola crayons?

No, the original 8 colors were basically Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Red, Violet and Yellow. Almost everyone thinks that the original yellow box with the Gold Medal on it was the original 8-color box but that didn't come out until 1905 and Crayola debuted in Aug 2003. They had a green box of 8 back then that contained: Black, Blue, Brown, English Vermilion, Green, Orange, Violet, Yellow. Now English Vermillion is a red color and was commonly used as a Red back during that time so technically those have always been the standard 8 colors. The 8-color box goes back even before Crayola was created. Franklin Mfg Co. were the first to use this size box and set the standard for those colors. White, however, was an original color featured in the Crayola assortment in 1903. They used it in a 12 color box for artists and sketching and it could be found in their 18, 24 and 28 color sets. Over the 100+ years of Crayola, White is one of the most consistent colors whereas other colors like Red, Blue and Green changed fairly significantly over the years.

I feel like they do but I guess that would depend on whether or not you find coloring a relaxing activity.

Is the smell of Crayola crayons good for you?

Whether they are scented or not, you should know, they are made from wax for the most part. Solely balancing on the fact wax is bad for you, I doubt sniffing crayons is a good idea. I mean, it's not going to kill you, but it's going to do some serious damage in the long run. But, don't worry! Crayon's don't have that strong a scent! Unless you colour with your nose literally on the crayon, nothing bad should occur.

Will a crayon decompose?

No because crayons are made from parafin wax which deprives it of petroluem. making it non-biodegradeable.

What if your dog eats balloons or crayons and crap out the same color as the item they ate?

THIS IS BECAUSE THOSE COLORS ARE CHEMICAL DYES THAT ARE NOT METABOLIZED BY THE DOG'S DIGESTIVE SYSTEM AND SIMPLY PASS STRAIGHT THROUGH. MOST TYPES OF ORGANIC DYES ARE DIGESTIBLE, SO THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN WITH THEM. IF THE DOG EATS, FOR EXAMPLE, AN ORANGE CRAYON AND HAS A PURPLE CRAP, THEN SOMETHING IS PROBABLY WRONG AND HE SHOULD SEE A VET. OTHERWISE IF THIS HAPPENS HE SHOULD BE OK, BUT IT'S BETTER NOT TO HAVE IT HAPPEN. PLUS, BALLOONS CAN GET TANGLED UP AND TWISTED IN THE INTESTINES, AND THAT'S OBVIOUSLY PRETTY SERIOUS. SAME THING CAN HAPPEN WITH SOCKS, NYLONS, UNDERWEAR ETC. SO BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU LET HIM PLAY WITH. GOOD LUCK
