Many claims are made that creation is right and evolution is wrong, as you suggest.

However, this is far from reality. Evolution is both a well-documented scientific fact and a theory. Creation is a religious belief based on the presence of the universe - if something exists, it must have somehow been created.

The belief that evolution (or science in general) must be at odds with religion is largely in error, as Eugenie Scott of the National Center for Science Education points out. Many mainstream christian religions find faith in God perfectly compatible with modern science. Darwin's theory of evolution delved into every aspect of the subject known at the time. Since then, however, science has made enormous progress filling in the details. Darwin knew virtually nothing of molecular biology, which is now a cornerstone of evolutionary science, and exquisitely demonstrates the kin-ships and common ancestral relationships of virtually all extant species.

Young earth creationism, the notion that all organisms were created simultaneously around 6000 years ago remains clearly and demonstrably wrong.

Simply put, it is because one is based on divine revelation, and the other on human speculation: "let God be true, but every man a liar" Romans 3:4. Besides that, discoveries in science, that were made from Charles Darwin's time and up to now have rendered his theory more extinct then the dinosaurs, but you will have to do your own research, if you are interested in science.

Looking at this issue from the Biblical perspective, if evolution was to be proven correct, it would make the Bible and Christianity irrelevant.

A question of much debate in recent history. And the obvious reason for the rising questions about this 'theory' of evolution postulated in the Age of Enlightenment of the 19th Century, is the astounding increase in scientific knowledge. Yet with all this time passing since the inception of this idea, the missing link still evades all. Indeed, the increase of knowledge has not afforded researchers any comfort levels in confirming the 'assumptions' of the evolutionary theory - and in fact some have been refuted outright. However, there appears to be a powerful insistence if you will, by many in the scientific community not to question the theory, for there is thought to be much at stake - think about the recent scam about 'global warming' broken in the recent past and how little it is communicated to the masses.

In any event, there is more than enough evidence on the worldwide web to help the questioners discover the answer for themselves. Answers here will certainly be skewed towards individual bias - just human nature. In the early 1st Century though, this question was also presented by the intelligensia and this is one of the Scriptural replies from the Apostle Paul to the Gentiles at Rome:

Genesis 1:14 says that the sun, moon and stars are just lights in the firmament. The firmament in turn is just a dome place above the Earth to separate the waters above from the waters below (Genesis 1:7).

So, according to the Bible, the Earth is the centre of the universe and the sun, moon and stars are mere lights just above.

The Tanach (Jewish Bible) does not specify that the Earth is the centre of the universe. There is no specification as to the size of the universe, and Jewish scholars, dating back thousands of years, believed that there are hundreds of thousands of stars with 18,000 worlds. The majority of modern religious Jews find no conflict between the Big Bang Theory and the story of creation nor with the idea of extraterrestrial life.

This is quite a difficult subject to answer as the belief in the supernatural has existed in mankind since prehistoric times and as such, no records exist. All evidence from prehistorical time takes the place of archeological and anthropological research. Further complicating the problem is cultural and lingustics issues associated with post-historic societies as the definition of words becomes a matter of debate.

Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

According the the Christian faith, God was always here, and always will be.

Revelation 1: 8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."

God has not let us in on that mystery.

Since, as part of Creation, God created time itself, the word "before" is not necessarily relevant. And as the first answer says, it is in any case beyond our ken.

Day 1: God created the heavens and the earth. Also, He divided light and dark (Night and day)

Day 2: God created water and divided the sky from the ocean

Day 3: He created dry land, grass, trees, plants, etc.

Day 4: He created sun, moon, and stars, and set the days and seasons in motion.

Day 5: Birds and animals in the ocean

Day 6: land animals and Man.

This can all be found in Genesis chapter 1.

The "creation" account in Genesis 1 is actually a "RE-creation" account of a destroyed earth:

"The earth was empty, a formless mass cloaked in darkness..." (Gen.1:2 NLT New Living Translation).

Same verse; Living Bible [LVB]: "...the earth was a shapeless, chaotic mass, with the Spirit of God brooding over the dark vapors."

God is the Source of "Light" and Satan is the source of "darkness."

"Your eye is a lamp for your body. A Pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. But and Evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness. If the light you think you have is really darkness, how deep that darkness will be!" (Matt.6:22-23 NLT)

"The night is almost gone; the day of Salvation will soon be here. So don't live in darkness. Get rid of your evil deeds. Shed them like dirty clothes. Clothe yourselves with the Armor of Right Living, as those who live in the Light." (Rom.13:12 NLT)

Other scriptures reveal that the chaotic state the earth was in in the beginning and the resulting "darkness" was the result of Satan's rebellion against God's Government before man was made. Satan and his angels launched their attack upon God's throne in heaven FROM EARTH:

"For you said to yourself, 'I will ascend to heaven [go to heaven] and rule the angels. I will take the Highest Throne... I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High." (Isa.14:13-14 LVB)

The King James Version [KJV] says: "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds..." (verse 14). "Clouds" are a phenomenon that occurs "within the earth's atmosphere! " Not in heaven. Therefore, Satan was standing ON THE EARTH when he entertained these rebellious thoughts.

It was back down to earth where Michael and his angels cast Satan and his angels, following their coup attempt on God's throne in heaven:

"And the great Dragon lost the battle and was forced out of heaven... This great Dragon - the ancient Serpent called the Devil, or Satan... was thrown down to the earth with all his angels." (Rev.12:8-9 NLT)

This is what caused the "dark, chaotic, shapeless mass" that the earth was found in, when God finally began to "RE-create" the earth in Genesis 1; verse 3. When an army of powerful spirit beings are cast down onto a planet... what are the results?

"...I saw Satan falling from heaven AS A FLASH OF LIGHTNING! " (Luke 10:18 NLT)

When a meteor or asteroid or left-over space debris from that monumental "space war" [star wars] strikes the earth... is the earth affected?

So, what God did for those "six days" of RE-creation of the [already existing, but destroyed] earth, was to "prepare the earth in stages TO SUSTAIN MAN!

On the first day, Satan's darkness was nullified by God's Light... God's presence. The "light" God called "day" and the "darkness" He called "night" is a "twenty-four hour rotation of the earth" that we call a "one day," today, as viewed from a fixed point on the earth. In other words... God created TIME on the first Day of RE-creation. Time is "physical"... measured by the rotations and orbits of the planets.

The second day, God created a "breatheable atmosphere" around the earth that man, animals and plants would require to live - the "space between the waters" [the earth's atmosphere, the "first heaven," the space between the waters on the earth and the reestablishment of the precipitating clouds above].

We call it -- the SKY!

On the third day... the water-covered earth saw the rising of land masses forming above sea level. Man, animals and plant-life would require something to stand on... or drown. The seeds of plants, grass, trees, etc... may well have been left over from the original creation of the earth, before the Dragon's rebellion and subsequent destruction of the earth. But, like the destruction that occurred around Mt. St. Helens in recent past... the recovering earth replanted what had lain dormant for a time. So, would the seeds of earth's former flora before it became a "chaotic mass" have blossomed again with the reestablishment of the "light and the water and the soil of the earth."

On the fourth day, the stars, sun and moon became evident as seen from earth to establish the season, day, month and year cycles. Just as the earth was destroyed after some undisclosed amount of time after God's original creation of the universe, by Satan's rebellion... it follows that all of the planets would have been affected, also. Indeed, does an objective view of outer space reveal the dead planets around us... and the space debris [planetary shrapnel] still floating and colliding with one another... mostly going unrepaired and awaiting the birth of God's Children; His Family of Creators, to inherit that future task, following the present allotted time God is giving man to experience his first phase of existence.

God restocked the earth with sea creatures and birds on the fifth day. What man hasn't aspired to soar like the birds... or to go fishing every chance he gets?

On the sixth day, the earth was refurbished and ready to sustain man. So, God made the land creatures, each created in their own likeness and after their kind... and He created man, not after the ape-kind but, after the God-kind -- created, specially and in one twenty-four hour day -- in God's image.

And then God made the "Seventh-day"... the Sabbath Day by resting... for man to REMEMBER CREATION... to REMEMBER HIS CREATOR... to remember that he is God's creation.

The rest is history; man forgot to remember creation -- and the god he chose to worship and obey, instead of his Creator, has been leading man, who refuses to learn the lessons of history, to reenact his original rebellion, to bring the earth once again to a state of "a formless, chaotic mass, cloaked in darkness."

"In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened [by God], the entire human race will be destroyed. But it will be shortened for the sake of God's chosen ones." (Matt.24:22 NLT)

And so is a second re-creation of the earth in God's plan at the end of man's allotted time of errant rule on the earth [see Rev.21:1].

There are no other creation stories which are as old and accurate as the biblical texts. All other stories of creation came after the documentation of biblical text which were initially penned by Moses, the servant of the Lord God of Israel.

Many attempt to provided an alternate story or reasoning to the creation of flesh mankind, and all have failed because they attempt to fit everything into one eon (age) of this earth, when biblically its documented in 2nd Peter chapter 3, that there are 3 eons (ages) to this earth.

Fact:

The age of the Earth is 4.54 billion years (4.54 × 109 years ± 1%).[1][2][3] This age is based on evidence from radiometric age dating of meteorite material and is consistent with the ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples.

let's not leave out the dating process of dinosaur bones.

Surely no one believes dinosaurs didn't exist and that alone makes Earth a minimum of 100 Million Years old.

Dust, dirt, clay... it's all of the elements of the earth. And when fire burns hot enough... they all turn to ashes.

Any local scientist will tell you that we are made up of the elements of the earth. With a generous helping of water thrown into the mix.

"You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'He did not make me'?" (Isa.29:16 NIV)

"For He knoweth our frame; He remembereth that we are dust." (Ps.103:14)]
