Its quite simple as that it ejects the shotgun shell out of the gun after it has been fired but this depends on the type. A double or single barrel shotgun would only eject the shells when u hit the release mechanism to reveal your side of the barrel then they eject out.On any other type shot gun where u load 8 or have a clip they generally fling out the side when re-cocked or if automatic they do this automatically. Production began with single shot tip-up shotguns, which had an external side hammer. Double barrel shotgun production was started in 1891. In 1893, they began making bicycle chains, and that same year, H&D Folsom took over the company's financial control. In 1929, N.R. Davis Firearms Co., then owned by Warner Arms Corp., merged with Cresent to become Crescent-Davis Arms Corp. Because of financial crisis, business continued to decline, and they were forced to sell out. Savage Arms Co. acquired Cresent-Davis in 1931, assembled guns from the remaining parts, and these guns were sold under the Crescent name only. In 1932, the city of Norwich, CT, took over the Crescent property for non-payment of back taxes. After the Norwich facility was closed, manufacture was moved to Chicopee Falls. Crescent Firearms has not existed since 1931.

A "Trade Brand Name" shotgun is one that was made by a major gun maker (and before 1940) for and was sold by a wholesale sporting goods dealer, a retail chain store, or an independent seller who chose the name to go on the gun. Guns with the name VICTOR EJECTOR were made by the Crescent Firearms Company of Norwich, CT (1892 to 1930+) for and were sold at wholesale by the H & D Folsom Company of New York City a large wholesale, retail, jobber and distributor of guns and sporting goods. The records of Crescent Firearms were destroyed in a scrap paper drive in 1943 during World War Two. H & D Folsom owned Crescent Fire Arms from 1893 to 1930 and what ever Folsom wanted, Crescent made. And what they wanted was a lot of inexpensive (read cheap) shotguns fast. Folsom also owned the name American Gun Co. The shotguns sold new for between $15 and $25 and hasn't appreciated much over the years. All I know of Metropolitan is the Metropolitan Arms Co. in New York city, received its impetus when Colt's factory suffered substantial fire damage in 1864. Every Metropolitan Arms product was a copy of a Colt.
