If it is happening on a site like this one, report it to any supervisor, or if you can search and find the group that tracks cyberbullying here, report to them. Whatever you do, don't just ignore it. While we may be limited in the steps we can take, we are aggressively involved in tracking and eliminating cyberbullying to the extent possible.

If it is happening on a school site, let administrators know. See if you can dig enough to find who is in charge of a given site, or report to any addresses available for site feedback.

You can answer the following questions to first find out if you're a bully. If you answer "yes" to any of them (be honest), then you will probably know that you are a bully: # When online, do you constantly tease people, sometimes in a not-so-friendly way, but you mean it in a bad way? # Has anyone ever asked you to stop saying what you're saying? # Have you ever made anyone cry by what you have said online? # If you pick on someone weaker than yourself just for the joy and power you feel because of it. # If you are on MySpace, FaceBook or any other forum for young people and you are stalking them or threatening them then you are classed as a 'cyber bully!' # If you disrespect certain friends or girlfriends and demean them by saying hurtful things then you are being down right mean! After answering these questions, if it turns out that you ARE a bully, then one thing that would help for you to do is to start thinking before you type/speak. This would prevent you in the future from harming others unintentionally. Then, you can also speak to your friends, or if you feel uncomfortable, a school counselor to find out some things you could do to stop being a bully. The first step, of course, is to admit it.

iF we stop giving our children more use to the media like cell phone ipods and any way to connect to the internet it would stop teens these days have so much acess with the social network if we check on them and stop letting them use these social networks such as facebook twitter myspace it would be stop

It is never wrong to resist abuse by legal means. Yelling back is legal though not always effective.

It is never wrong to stand up for yourself, but it's dangerous when it's linked to an abuser! If you are married or just dating, get out of this relationship! To argue with such a person could mean physical violence. Abuse is all about control and if he/she feels they are losing control of you things could get ugly. It is best to remain silent and have a good plan to leave this relationship. Be sure you have family or friends on your side and some place to go.

hello, well its instinct to want to defend yourself especially when you know you are in the right and perhaps your side is the logical one. an abuser when "abusing" is very selfish, its all about him him him (or her her her). they just care to get what they want, WHATEVER THEY WANT. the more you resist or argue the angrier they get, the more frustrated, so with abusers its best to keep quiet, perhaps give them space (let them know you'll be back as soon as theyve calmed down). I personally tried to talk peacefully into getting him to understand my needs, i was good to him, i made sense, but in the end he hurt and havent seen him since. So as the abused i feel : oh its my fault because i shouldve obeyed what he was saying then "nothing would ve happened and we would still be together. this type of thinking also means that I ( YOU) the abused needs to learn that we are worth so much and deserve wonderful things, someone who will listen to us and respect us...and who can make us feel welcome to be ourselves..

yes it does. It does because, for example, if it is regular bullying, you can tell who the person is, so than you can report him immediately. But if it's cyber bullying, you cant tell who it is, which makes it all right for them to keep bullying you. one time, tis guy black mailed this guys page, and then he hacked it, yet no one knew who it was. so that's why cyber bullying has a bigger impact than reg. bullying

unfortunately, this is true. many of the "populars" "preppies" "jocks" or even just plain "bullies" think that they're untouchable on the computer, but it can almost alwyas be traced back to the culprit. Since Teens, Kids, and students alike use the computer for many more things now AKA to stay in touch with friends, write reports, research easily ect., we rely on computers much more now, and thus when Cyber Bullying occurs we no longer feel "safe" on the computer, and this sometimes leads to worse mental side affects, because on the computer we cannot see the Bully's face, cannot hear their voice, and when it is written for all the world to see it is much harder to ignore than if only a handful of people heard it.

Yes Cyber bulling is one of the most common bullying.

Alot of people get cyber bullied everyday mabey even 20 times a day and it could be your kid. so keep checking on them once in a while but not over computer they will get annoyed because im a kid my self.

There are many dangers of computers. Say for example, chat sites. You might think you are talking to a 16 yr old girl and you want to meet at the mall the next day. What you don't know is that the person may be a 40 yr old man who wants to abduct, assault and rape you.

If you are old enough to look at porn, you might not notice that it costs a lot of money to watch 1 clip...maybe even $400 a clip. Its true. And id you are logged in to your parents account, that's there money that is being wasted on porn. Not a smart move.

When you are cyber-bullied you feel very self-concious and are very unsure of urself. The bully eventually makes you feel worthless and u feel so bad about yourself, hate yourself so much, that you just want to die.

Being comfortable doing things on the internet. The other side of this is the shock some people will get when what they have been doing is brought out in Court

Only the police know...but they can, however, track down the bully using special software and using their computer knowledge. They can then find the bully and speak to them, and have them put in record. There are many other ways...but I am unsure.
