Depends where you are in the world!! Cyprus is two hours ahead of UK time, so for example, 8pm in London would be 10pm in Nicosia, and so on.

If you know the time in the UK relative to where you are, then just add two hours on to that to know what the time is in Cyprus from wher you are.

The island of Crete has two major ethnic and cultural groupings: Greek Cypriots, and Turkish Cypriots. The two groups have experienced tensions and inter-communal violence, and Greece and Turkey have become involved in ways that have nearly brought the two countries (on paper, allies as members of NATO) to open warfare several times.
