Another issue is the extremely short "shelf-life" of dancers. She, herself, was finished at 20, and most, if not all , of her most promising students over the years were out for health and injury reasons before they even finished their master's programs.
Her advice: Dance for joy, fun, exercise, peace of mind and passion. But always have a PLAN B ready for income and survival.

There are so many genres of dances; modern, foreign, ballroom, ballet, break dancing, hip-hop, tap and street are just some.
Anyone can dance, each person has their type of dancing. You might think that fat people can't dance but really they can! And if you are a bit fat and you want to dance but you feel self conscious then don't worry. You are NOT alone. There are explanations to why you could be a bit over weight, and if you are a female.... do not fear, for some reason it is a lot harder for women to lose weight.
Just remember that ANYONE can dance! No matter how they look! I always say.... Dance with your heart and not your eyes.... because when you dance with your heart you don't care how you look, you just do what feels right. But when you dance with your eyes, you become cautious and embarrassed on how you dance or if you do a mistake.... and trust me from doing it for a long time.
Here is a tip... If you want to become a talented dancer, you have to try out different types of dances until you find the genre that is just right for you. One last thing.... If you ever look on the internet and watch all these pretty dancers that are thin, do not fear. God made us who we are, we each have our role to play on earth and if your role hasn't come yet, don't worry it will sooner or later.
