What do you do if you are in a forest and there is a fire?

call for help and donot go to the kitchen If the fire is small, use a fire extinguisher. If you are by yourself or cannot control it with a small extinguisher, leave the building and call 911. In a share building (condo, apartment, commercial) pull the fire alarm handle. Most shared buildings have a fire plan with locations for the assembly of residents. These may be posted near the main entrance, as well as on each floor. Do not use the elevator.

What is monoculture plantation?

monoculture means that you remove the entire natural ecosystem, pile the roots and debris and burn them, plow the soil and plant seeds of a food or fibre crop, usually exotic in origin. This kind of monoculture never happens in nature in the absence of human intervention.

How can a small increase of carbon dioxde level in the atmosphere affect earths trmperature?

if carbon dioxide increases too much it may release another gas called methane, which will reduce the atmosphere and damage the planet.

What does character of habitat mean?

character of habit refers to the pattern and tendencies associated to any particular habit of a person. it refers to the behaviour of a person in relation to any particular habit

Why should people in North America be concerned about the rain forests in south Africa Asia and Africa?

The rain forests of Africa, Asia, and South America are major carbon sinks, i.e. absorb large quantities of carbon dioxide and release oxygen back into the atmosphere. Because of their fast growth, rain forests (especially tropical rain forests) absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen faster than temperate and boreal forests. The Amazon rain forest alone accounts for 20% of the oxygen production for the earth. Over time, humans have cut down or damaged at least 75% of the world's forests, and that destruction has accounted for much of the excess carbon that is warming the planet. At this time tropical forests are undergoing much faster deforestation than the forests in North America and Europe - and when a tropical forest is cleared, it takes far, far longer to recover than forests in temperate climes. Currently the carbon released into the atmosphere in the process of deforestation of tropical rain forests now accounts for roughly 17% of all global emissions contributing to climate change. This is more carbon dioxide than all cars, trucks, planes, trains and ships collectively emit into the atmosphere. The forests of Europe, North America have been significantly reduced by logging and Australia doesn't have enough forests to make much of contribution so we are quite dependent on the tropical rain forests.

Also -

25% of Western pharmaceuticals are derived from ingredients found in tropical rain forests and it is reported that 121 prescription drugs sold worldwide are derived from plants from the tropical rain forests.

What is cutting down a forest without replanting?

Answer 1:

cutting down a forest without replanting some trees is really bad. in 5 years we lost 132,000 square kilometres of the Amazon and were going to lose another 85%.

if your cutting down trees at least do what velvet does ,if you take 1 replant 3.

Answer 2:

The answer is deforestation.:)

Examples of deforestation?

Examples of Deforestation

Tropical countries are the most common victims of deforestation, but also destinations like Indonesia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, China, Liberia, Malaysia, Laos, and Ghana. All of the above have lost large amounts of their rainforest. Madagascar is currently struggling to supply fresh water, food, and adequate sanitation for its rapidly increasing population. The country has lost 95% of its rainforests, which has led to soil loss, desertification, and degradation of water resources.

f) Brazil:

The Brazilian government has reported in 2008 that a record rate of deforestation is taking place in the Amazon. The cause of deforestation in this country is also influenced by commodity prices, including recent developments in agriculture that has seen beef ranches and other crop farms move farther into the forest.

human needs.

d) Water Conditions:

Deforestation plays a role in the amount of water found in the soil, as well as the level of moisture in the atmosphere.

e) Medicinal Loss:

Researchers have uncovered the sources to a wealth of new drugs within forest biotopes located all over the world. With deforestation, the genetic variations (like crop resistance) that scientists would like to preserve are greatly threatened.

f) Precipitation:

The loss of vital trees and plants affect the water cycle in many different ways, as the absence of litter, stems, and trunks of trees all play an important role. With less forest covering the land, the ability to 'intercept, retain, and transport precipitation' is affected. When precipitation is not trapped, surface water transport occurs at a faster rate. Possible outcomes include flash floods.

Here is where I got it from

Hope it helped.

Why conservation of forest is important?

First of all, trees basically "eat" Carbon Dioxide (which is bad) and in return, they give us oxygen. Plus they also provide homes for small mammals and birds, and some native rain forest people.
