If bipolar is treated right what will it help avoid?

If a child is diagnosed with bipolar disorder and everything happens perfectly, there is a significant chance his or her brain will re-wire. This depends, though, on the right medicine combo, the support of the family and community, the right doctor, etc. In teenagers and adults, fully treated bipolar disorder becomes something more tame. You'll feel manic sometimes, and you'll feel depressed sometimes, but nothing to the extent of the un-treated (or not-fully-treated) manic/depressive swings. In other words, you'll feel a lot better and be able to live a full and healthy life. There will always be restrictions, because like diabetes or anemia this is a disease we can't cure. There will always be no alcohol or drugs, low stress levels, plenty of sleep and food, little caffeine, appointments, etc. But bipolar disorder can go into remission.

What are signs of depression-?

Answer:

Feeling down from time to time is a normal part of life. But when sadness takes hold and won't go away, it may be depression. More than just the temporary "blues," the lows of depression make it tough to function and enjoy life like you once did. A person with severe depression has little or no interest in work or hobbies, and may even have trouble getting out of bed. With treatment and help, you can feel better. Learning how to understand depression - including its signs, symptoms, and causes - is the first step to overcoming the problem. If you identify with several of the following signs and symptoms, and they just won't go away, you may be suffering from clinical depression. * you can't sleep enough or you sleep too much. * you can't concentrate or find that previously easy tasks are now difficult. * you feel worthless and hopeless. * you can't control your negative thoughts, no matter how much you try. * you have lost your appetite or you can't stop eating. * you are constantly irritated or become enraged even at small things - and this is new for you. * you have thoughts that life is not worth living, or have a plan for how you would end it (Seek help immediately if this is the case). There's a vast difference between "feeling depressed" and suffering from clinical depression. The despondency of clinical depression is unrelenting and overwhelming. Some people describe it as "living in a black hole" or having a feeling of impending doom. They can't escape their unhappiness and despair. However, some people with depression don't feel sad at all. Instead, they feel lifeless and empty. In this apathetic state, they are unable to experience pleasure. Even when participating in activities they used to enjoy, they feel as if they're just going through the motions. The signs and symptoms vary from person to person, and they may wax and wane in severity over time.

Does a shower help depression?

Well it may not help it is just your believe. you just have on your mind that it is going to work and it may work.

Answer:

There is a body of folklore that showers produce negative ions that these ions improve a person's mental state. There is also a consideration that doing something "nice" for yourself like having a shower with pleasant smelling soaps or conditioners is a treat to show you that you are worth something and will present a well tended physical presence to the world can improve mental outlook. And a consideration that heat or hot water can reduce muscle and joint pain to make yourself feel better physically and potentially reflect this in your mental state. In any case showering (in the normal sense, not the obsessive compulsive need to shower continuously or in the criminal sense of wanting to remove blood or GSR evidence) is generally a boost to one's mental state.

How often do bipolars switch from mania to depressed?

Bipolar disorder is characterized by slow mood swings over periods of several days to several months, depending on the person. Why does my life suck as a kid?

At one point or another, all kids think that their life sucks. Many watch tv shows or movies and think that is what their life is supposed to be like, or compare themselves to other people.

My dad had a saying "You never know what goes on under someone else's roof". So while you think that your life may suck in comparison to someone else's life, the reality is they may just be putting on a show for everyone.

Why do you think your life sucks? Do you have a "Pity me attitude"? if so, it may be driving others away rather than drawing them in.

Can narcotics cause depression?

All drugs, including alcohol, that depress the nervous system can exaggerate depression, as can the confusion and chaos surrounding drug use. Whether they actually cause it depends on the individual's brain chemistry and the drug in question.

The first step in treating depression or any other emotional or mental disorder is to get the person off all drugs if possible. Otherwise it is impossible to judge the degree of the problem, or the effects of medications that might counteract it.

When a person stands on a cushion the depression is much more than when he lies down on it?

When a man lies on a cushion his weight is spread out over a large area. When he stands on the cushion his feet depress quite a small area. Since, put simply, "Pressure = Force divided by Area" so the smaller area creates a greater pressure.

What determines a persons choice of method of suicide?

What a morbid question! It depends on a lot of things:

1. Gender, gender stereotypes, and gender culture. People who are more "macho" tend to choose more violent methods.

2. The reason they want to die. If they feel guilty and want to punish themselves, they may choose a more violent method than if they are just tired fo suffering.

3. Ethnic culture and society's values. In places where honor is valued, suicides may be particularly cruel. They may reason that if they are such a shame to their family and community, they must make up for it with bravery in the way they die. In places where suicide itself is seen as a shameful act, it may be done in a way that makes it look like an accident or like they were defending themselves from another. They may even get an accomplice to stage things to look like a crime scene.

4. Availability of supplies. While everyone attempting it has a preferred method, they may use whatever is at hand if they are desperate enough.

5. Location at the time of suicide. If someone is at a high-rise motel or a high bridge and feels desperate, they would be likely to jump, unless of course they brought another means with them.

6. Amount of desperation or determination to end it. If someone really wants it to work, they may employ multiple methods at once. If someone is really just out for attention, they may choose methods likely to be reversed by medical care.

7. Amount of time pressure. If a person just killed another and the police are coming for them, and they feel this is their only way out, they would use the fastest method they can.

In Romeo and Juliet why is Romeo sad?

In Romeo And Juliet, Romeo is sad because he cannot be with his true love - Juliet. Romeo and Juliet's families have argued for years, no one knows the true reason because it was such long ago they started. It was basically unheard of for a Capulet(Juliet's family) and a Montauge (Romeo's family). But their love was so strong that they fought for it. Juliet drank a liquid that made her look dead. A note would be sent out to tell Romeo to look in the Capulet tomb so Romeo And Juliet can run off together. Romeo truly thought Juliet was dead. He drank a dagger and killed himself in the tomb. As Juliet awoke, she saw her love dead. So she also killed herself.

Why do your hands seize up and contort on you why your having a panic attack?

This just happened to me today for the first time ever. It was v scary, especially since I was driving at the time. I thought I was having a stroke. A nurse told me that the hands contort when they're not getting enough oxygen--i.e., when the panicked person is hyperventilating. To make it stop, you have to get control of your breathing & take deep, slow breaths. (I still don't understand why it's the hands that are affected, and not some other body part.)
