there are several answers i could come up with for this one, depending on the OS you use, many systems use empty hard disk space and convert that into what is called "virtual memory." so systems use both, actual memory installed, and virtual "paged" memory. so to simplify the answer, the more memory you have, the less time programs have to use your hard disk "memory" to finish, or run tasks. when your drive is being accessed for memory, it takes away access time for applications. The limiting reagent model: your system can only go as fast the the slowest reagent. Information moving from memory to CPU - fastest, speed of current Information moving from Hard drive to CPU - slowest, friction of drive turning to access information More memory means more information can be stored electronically and be accessible electronically. Of course, all of this must take into account your OS and how the program you want to run is coded. If the program will not load into memory but constantly accesses the hard drive by design, more memory will not help it so much. More memory really comes into play with the processes behind the scenes in Windows. By having more space for Windows XP to run free, you allow necessary functions to flow quickly.

The aperture is like the iris of the eye. When the aperture is very small, you will get a sharper focus and more depth of field-- near and far things in the scene will tend to be sharper. This is because the smaller circle is cutting down on the "confusion" caused by the countless overlapping circles of light being focused on the film or other light sensitive surface in the camera. The down side is that because the iris is smaller, less light is getting in, and you need a longer exposure to get a good image. When the aperture is larger, you can get a good image with a faster exposure, but sharpness and depth of field may suffer a little. The "circles of confusion" are larger, because the aperture is larger.

A single lens reflex (SLR) is a camera that uses the same set of lenses to both focus the image on the CCD (digital) and enable the photographer to frame the picture. That is to say, when you look through the viewfinder of a DSLR you are looking directly at the object through the main lens. You are not looking at the digitally re-created picture of the object or through some other lens that is off-center of the main lens.

A point-and-shoot camera will have some other mechanism for framing the picture.

An image is made up of pixels, or tiny squares that each have a designated color. the pixels are normally so small that you don't see them. However, sometimes a picture looks blurry when resized. That blurry image is a pixelated image.

The cheapest digital picture frames are usually the smallest. They're cheap because it doesn't use up a lot of pixels to make your image, or not nearly as much as a bigger picture.

It all depends on what type, make and recording medium your camera uses.

If it is tape and has an analogue output (AV leads) then you will need a computer with a video capture device added.

The card or dongle will have appropiate connections on it, for the AV leads. The devices also come bundled with the software to do it and instructions.

Some digtial cameras use a 'firewire' connection. But again your computer will have to be equipped with the correct socket. If it isn't already, then it can be added.

If you camera uses digital media, such as disc or memory card, then insert the media in the correct slot on your computer. Open the files and copy and paste them onto your hard drive.

If you're talking about optical zoom there is no difference other than you will be closer to the viewed object.
If you are talking about digital zoom, the size of the pixels will increase and blur.

The average megapixel camera is between 10-14.1 megapixels. You canget some non-SLR camera's in the 16 megapixel zones. anywhere above that you get into professional cameras, which get pricey!! and you need to buy optional lenses.

That person's answer doesn't exactly answer the question does it? The answer is, I believe, the Seitz (made in Switzerland) which has a whopping 160 MP, and can cost up to $36,266 US dollars!~JeremeK

Depends on what you need to do. A scanner copies an image into a computer and a camera takes a picture of something. Many all in one printers have scanners built in, some are as cheap as $50 on sale.

1 GB is relatively small for today's standards, although many 1 GB flash drives exist.

It depends on the size of the photo, which in turn depends on the resolution and the encoding.

GIF and JPEG formats are compressed formats. A good size to "share" with e-mail, web photos, and etc. is less than 100 KB, with resolutions between 500x500 and 1000x1000.

Some newer cameras are able to produce photos in excess of 2MB.

While the large photos are cumbersome for handling, they are better for cropping and editing, and produce better prints.

So....

At 100K, a 1GB drive or flash card could hold about 10,000 photos.

At 2MB, a 1GB drive or flash card could hold about 500 photos.

There are rechargeable AA batteries that are sold.

One should NOT attempt to charge regular AA batteries. This can result in the batteries leaking or exploding. Charging regular batteries can result in injury or fatality in a number of ways including fire. If they do not say rechargeable then they are probably not chargeable.

As a cmos camera can refer to many different types of cameras, it's hard to answer this. Mainly, cmos cameras are less expensive to manufactiure, resulting in cheaper cameras in general. That's about all I can tell you, sorry!

Digital cameras can be bought at all the major chain stores like Wal-Mart and Target. However, if you are looking for a high quality camera then going to a photography store or electronics store will be your best option.

A great digital camera to get would be the Kodak EasyShare M1033. It has 5x digtal zoom, automatic focus, 10 megapixel and face detection. This camera has feature that people want and it has current technology.

Normally unless something is broken, it is a storage device (it stores pictures and sometimes videos), an input device (it gets the photos and videos from something within it), and it is an output device (it has a screen)

There is no SD slot. You need to get a card reader. You put the card into this and plug it into your computer. Alternatively you can connect your camera to the computer using the cables that came with it. Check your instruction book.

Have not tried this, but this is what I found when searching: You may be able to do this with the supplied software and accessories with your camera, but there are external devices that make this process much easier. If you have an external memory card reader that reads and writes, you can transfer photos without using the camera or any proprietary software. In fact, when connected in this way, you can move images back and forth all you like in the same way as you would copy and paste files into different folders on your computer.
