Why did the equal rights amendment fail to pass?
The equal rights amendment failed to pass because it was not ratified by enough states by the deadline it was given to become a constitutional amendment. Also the arguments were given that it would have been pointless, because it supposedly would not have provided women with any more rights than they already have under the Constitution. And that its passage would have had far-reaching implications, ruining traditional distinctions between the sexes. According to this criticism, women would have been required to register for the draft and would have to serve the country, just as men must. Also according to this criticism, the ERA would have removed legislatures that specially protect women, such as labor laws in heavy industry. Some women in the 1970s feared that passage of the ERA would prevent them from being favored for alimony and custody in cases of divorce.

What is pricing discrimination?
Price discrimination is the practice of charging the highest price to different consumers. This is so that the firm can maximize the revenue it receives for the goods it produces. Price discrimination is mainly for markets that are monopolistic, or oligopolistic. In these kinds of markets the firm has to decrease price in order to sell more of the good because they are the only supplier. Because of this marginal revenue is derived from the demand but the profit maximization condition is still marginal cost equals marginal benefits but marginal benefits does not equal the demand curve. The firm wants to price discriminate in order to avoid the decreased revenues because of the lost revenue because they have to decrease prices to get more consumers. One of the biggest problems in practicing price discrimination is that the firm needs perfect information in order to maximize the returns to price discrimination. Finding this information could be very costly to obtain, or could be realistically impossible to obtain.
What are the various types of price discrimination?
Price discrimination refers to when the same product is sold for different prices, no associated with changes in cost. There are three types of price discrimination.
1st degree: Different prices are charged to different customers, based on their perceived elasticity of demand for the good.
EX: black markets, market places, auctions, etc.
2nd degree: Product is available at a lower per-unit cost than was previously advertised. This includes companies which sell packages of a product that are deemed to be surplus capacity for a lower per-unit cost, or companies which sell larger quantities of a good at a lower per-unit cost.
EX: Buying in bulk (wholesale warehouses like Costco), airlines selling off last-minute seats that have not been bought for a lower price, etc.
3rd degree: Price of product varies by location or time
EX: Price of gas lower in rural communities, more expensive to fly south during the winter, etc.

Why do ghetto people make so many gangs?
It is because of many reasons. People who grow up in ghettos more than likely have a hard time in life with family, finances, schooling, gangs, and more. Because of these problems, some look to gangs as a family unit to make up for the absence of family at home. They look to gangs as a means to make money with criminal activity, and a way to be taken care of. They look to it as a way to learn the streets they have to live with everyday and since they may be falling behind in school, or they believe there is no way out of 'hood life no matter how well they do academically. They look to gangs because gangs may intimidate them into joining or else they'll hurt them and/or their love ones, or another gang is already harassing them, so they feel they have protection with joining up with another. And then there are those who just would rather cause chaos and do nothing more in life than that.
It should be noted that people from the ghetto aren't the only ones who create gangs. There are many suburban gangs as well.
