Who is a famous racist?

Adolf Hitler was more an anti-Semite than a racist; seeing as he employed within the ranks of his Army, both Muslims and Blacks, but for the sake of this question he could be considered racist.

#Abraham Lincoln

"I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people ... I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything. I do not understand that because I do not want a negro woman for a slave I must necessarily want her for a wife. My understanding is that I can just let her alone."

"they did not mean to declare all men equal in all respects. They did not mean to say all men were equal in color, size, intellect, moral development or social capacity. They defined with tolerable distinctness in what they did consider all men created equal - equal in certain inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness ... They meant to set up a standard maxim for free society which should be familiar to all: constantly looked to, constantly labored for, and even, though never perfectly attained, constantly approximated, and thereby constantly spreading and deepening its influence and augmenting the happiness and value of life to all people, of all colors, every where."

"What I would most desire would be the separation of the white and black races."

"I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races- that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes- nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which will ever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race."

#Mohandas Gandhi

"Why, of all places in Johannesburg, the Indian Location should be chosen for dumping down all the Kaffirs of the town passes my comprehension…the Town Council must withdraw the Kaffirs from the Location." (Reference: CWMG, Vol I, pp. 244-245)

His description of black inmates: "Only a degree removed from the animal." Also, "Kaffirs are as a rule uncivilized - the convicts even more so. They are troublesome, very dirty and live almost like animals." - Mar. 7, 1908 (Reference: CWMG, Vol VIII, pp. 135-136)

#Nelson Mandela

Belonged to a terrorist organisation and is believed to have sanctioned many terrorist plots against innocent Blacks and Whites in South Africa.

#Ernesto "Che" Guevara

"We're going to do for blacks exactly what blacks did for the revolution. By which I mean: nothing." -Che Guevera

"The Negro is indolent and lazy, and spends his money on frivolities, whereas the European is forward-looking, organized and intelligent."- Che Guevara

"Mexicans are a band of illiterate Indians." - Che Guevara

"Given the prevailing lack of discipline, it would have been impossible to use Congolese machine-gunners to defend the base from air attack: they did not know how to handle their weapons and did not want to learn," - Che Guevara

Che Guevara also railed against "long hairs," "lazy youths," and homosexuals.

Why is prejudice wrong?

Prejudice is wrong because it unfairly stereotypes and discriminates against individuals or groups based on their characteristics, such as race, ethnicity, or gender. It can lead to harmful outcomes, such as unequal treatment, exclusion, and violence, and perpetuates inequality and division within society. Embracing diversity, empathy, and understanding can help combat prejudice and create a more inclusive and harmonious world.

What was the greatest impact that Americans on the home front felt during World War 2?

The greatest impact was the loss of assistance provided by those off fighting. Many soilders came from small farms or poor families that depended on their assistance with day to day operations or additional money brought into the families budget. The greatest thing of "social" significance was the mass entrace of women into the work place. The men were away, but the factories still needed to operate. Women rose to the occassion, exchanging their aprons for welders and discovering that they had the intelligence, skill and dedication to the job - they were out there making the country run. It was a powerful and empowering realization and women would never again take a back seat to men in the workplace. After the war, huge numbers of women flooded the market to stand equal with men in the workplace. Working women created a life style change in their families. They were providing the second income, allowing their families to have more goods and services. The two car family came to be, along with other "luxuries" that had once been out of reach. "Saving up" for something became a way of the past. People wanted what they wanted NOW. Department stores were the first to issue store credit cards - then banks started offering them. This was the starting point for living outside of one's means. The two incomes suddenly were not enough so they looked for more money in other places. Credit cards gave them a new source of money and they spent to their credit limits. With credit cards maxed out - people again needed another source for money. The Mortgage Industry provided the answer, and the term "refi" became a part of the American culture. So people borrowed more money to spend against their homes. Eventually they consumed the equity and were trying to figure out where the next source of spending money would come from. There wasn't one. That is the real cause of the housing and credit crisis. People were irresponsible - caught up in the seemingly endless supply of cash to fill their wants and desires. The Boomers, those born after the war and raised with more affluence-never learned the lessons of their elders who went through the Great Depression and understood the lessons of saving and sacrificing to survive. The Boomer generation, which makes up over a third of this country's total population - impacted the economy with bad credit, no savings, no home equity and no way to hang on to their "stuff". So they defaulted on everything. And here we are today in this credit mess. And it was all started by those war time women who help us win a war and build a nation.! Now THAT'S IMPACT!

Why are narcissist cowards?

I am blown away as I read about narcissists. For months my ex boyfriend had me convinced that our relationship ended 5 months ago because I couldn't just trust him and be happy. I was filled with self doubt because this man who was amazing to me in the beginning, treating me like a queen, professing his love, promising a future of marriage and kids, and telling me that he was more than willing to wait until marriage to have sex with me completely changed overnight to a man who could not care less. As I read these articles on narcissists my feelings of self doubt come to a complete understanding of this very sick man. He was everything he thought I wanted in the beginning. Its scary to realise that he was so in tune in what I actually wanted. When I started to uncover some lies such as the fact that he did not have his own house but lived with his parents at 32. People started telling me that he was a well known drug addict. And the business that he supposidly was just selling had fallen apart and left him in 100 thosand dollars in debt that he could not even begin to pay back. I quickly realised that everything he told me was simply a facaud. As soon as these lies were uncovered he left me for another girl that he began making the same meaningless promises to. He disappeared for like 4 days before he even called me back and would not talk to me face to face saying I don't deserve someone who runs from his problems. Unfortunately for me though, 5 months later, I just was informed by the other girl who he left me for that there ever was another girl. In the past 5 months he kept calling me still saying he missed me and promising that when his problems were sorted out we could be together again because I was just that special. Throughout that time he took me out and after a couple of drinks one night we even slept together. It hurt me because I wanted to wait and it seemed that he could not care less what he took from me. I am a pretty girl and I have been asked out by many sucessful and wonderful men who I never gave a chance to because all this time I blamed myself for not being more trusting. N's are very persuasive and when you become involved you doubt yourself for losing their love. Now that it is clear I feel so much better to know that I never really had this man's love in the first place and I feel the warning signs will be easier to detect in the future.

Is homophobia a mental illness?

As a psychotherapist of some 25 years, I have struggled with this question. Hatred does not appear in the DSM as a mental illness, per se, but I believe it to be a major component of many of them. Paranoid schizophrenia is one possibility that comes to mind, as well as the more toxic forms of the Antisocial or Narcissitic Personality Disorders. Anyone can experience hatred from time to time, of course, without necessarily courting mental or emotional illness... but those who HOLD ON to hatred over long periods, nurse it, protect it, feed it--and act it out in violent or otherwise malicious or lethal ways--are definitely courting mental illness of some kind. Hatred that is clung to in this way is always indicative of a WOUND in the hater... and clinging to that hatred is a defense against HEALING that wound. It is a divergence from the path of Light, of living and loving--a back alley that leads to dismal and depressing and toxic destinations, and ultimately, I think, to "evil." [See Scott Peck's wonderful exploration of the subject in PEOPLE OF THE LIE: THE HOPE OF HEALING HUMAN EVIL.] Mental health, by contrast, requires BALANCE... and being "well-balanced" and clinging to hatred are absolutely divergent realities.

Is there racism in Britain?

Yes, racism affects Britain just as much as it affects other places around the world.

Is there racism in Australia?

Opinion 1: Australia is very racist. I am Asian and have cousins living in Brisbane. They say white aussies are anti-Asian. Some will openly declare their racist bones. The travel book "Lonely Planet" warns tourists of Queensland's widespread discrimination against non-white visitors. Some of my Asian friends living in Sydney also agree that they feel racial discrimination against them. Oh, and please come up with better than "No, Australia is not racist because we have all sorts of people coming to Australia as migrants and refugees", and "Oh, what about (another country)? Australia is no more racist than ...". They are as lame an excuse as they come. Just my two cents.

Opinion 2: Not really. Australia is a very multi-cultural country as many people have come to Australia as immigrants or refugees. Condemning Australia and all it's people is where you and your friends went wrong. Aussies love their country and get along with anyone that comes from overseas, however, if you do not share their love for their country then they want you out.

Opinion 3: Some Australians have racist tendencies. There are people in all cultures all around the world - not just Australia - who judge others in this way. Australia, like all countries, has some people with varying degrees of racism. Also, some actions which may be perceived as racism by others overseas are not necessarily intended to cause offence, but they may well be silly and insensitive. Some Australians may have a completely misguided sense of humor. This is also the case in many other countries and ultures across the globe. The fact that "racist activities" gain so much attention is, in fact, an indication that the great majority of Australians frown upon discrimination. If they did not, then racist activities would not be considered newsworthy. The other difference for Australia is that it is the second youngest country in the world, and thus did not experience the shame of slavery that dogged countries such as England and the USA. However, whilst "slavery" has never existed in Australia the way it did overseas, old English values of subservience being expected of the Aborigines, and the belief that they were not an intelligent people, certainly pervaded society up until around the same time that African-Americans were being awarded their natural rights as citizens of their country. In effect, it took Australia less time - relatively speaking - to learn from its racism mistakes than it took other English-speaking countries. But you will still find old racist values still abound among some members of the older generation, and sometimes these values are still passed on to younger members - just as they still are overseas.

Is it legal to discriminate gay people in Michigan?

Yes, it is illegal in that state. The state refers to as "Crime Against Nature" and the person can get 15 years in prison if convicted of this crime. It defines as unconstitutional as applied to private, consensual adult behavior.

===============================================================

If accomplished by force, without consent, or with someone incapable of consent, sodomy is a felony in all states in the same way that rape is.

Laws against consensual sodomy were ruled unconstitutional and therefore unenforceable by the US Supreme Court in Lawrence vs Texas on 26 June, 2003, However this only applies to non-commercial consenting adults in private.

Do French hate Muslims?

You should note that when international politics and diplomacy are involved, there are no real friends but different countries with common or diverging interests that more often than not, end up in 'friendly rivalries', contempt or even outright war.

With that in mind, France is one of the closest business parters of Mexico, and there are plenty of cultural ties to talk about. Recently however, diplomatic relations among both countries have suffered due to disagreements over justice issues, such as the case of Florence Cassez, a young French woman jailed in Mexico from 2005 to 2013 for alleged participation in a kidnapping gang run by her Mexican boyfriend. Another one is the case of former governor Arturo Montiel, who failed to return his three young children to his ex-wife in France following a vacation in Mexico. Maude Versini, the kids' mother, is beseeching the French government to intercede on her behalf, further damaging the relations between both countries.

Now, on general terms, neither French nor Mexican people have ill will against each other, mainly due to most pressing matters, such as Mexico's standing issues with its northern neighbor (the United States), or France's own issues with its immediate neighbors and illegal immigrants pouring into its own soil.

How did people see racism during the depression?

people saw racism go from bad to worse during the depression blacks and people fro other ethnic groups within society suffer to the extremes because whatever little help there was out there it was definitely not given to them they were the first to get fired from jobs and were often in the lower social classes so were the last to get help. they were also still treated bad by the whites in society so things did not get better for them.
