Abourma petroglyphs are in Tadjourah. The petroglyphs were made around 3000 B.C. There is the Barogali elephant hunt site in Dikhil which were made by prehistoric man. Asa Koma is also in Dikhil. It is a prehistoric settlement from the second millenia BC.

Somalia did not fight for their independance at all- before Somalia became a country it was two different protectorates- A British protectorate called British Somaliland (established in 1884-87), and an Italin Protectorate called Italian Somaliland ( established in 1889-90). Italy promised after World War II that in 10 years they would make Italin somaliland an independent republic. Somalia became a fully independent republic in 1960. When Italin Somaliland was gaining independance it merged with British somaliland making them both independent republics under the new name of Somalia.
