How long should a dog hold its urine?
I think it would depend on the size of the dog and how often he/ she drinks water. When I was a kid, we use to have a lab who would hold his bladder for 8 hours. I think that this is even too hard for humans I wouldn't expect my dog to do anything I couldn't do myself. I put down wee wee pads during the day and he always goes on them. When I get home I pick them up and he goes to the door when he needs to go. Some dogs will withhold from drinking water if they know they won't be able to go out to potty. One of my dogs won't drink water if it's raining because she doesn't like to go out in the rain! Your dog is just doing what dogs do.

The puppy will stop bitting at around 2 years old. Although it may never stop if you continue to allow it to do so :)

It is a way for the animal to demonstrate that they need attention or petting. I think that it is called a hedging and is most certainly a sign of affection.
Your dog ate a small oil pastel what do i do?
Most probably nothing will happen, and unlike humans; dogs have a very strong immune systems which prevent anything dangerous from happening.
You may find your dog may show symptoms of a tummy ache, however it is most probably likely that the oil pastel will pass through him, and as it was only a small consumption; it is most likely your dog won't even feel anything.
Therefore nothing can be done or should be done - leave him to rest and make sure his/her water bowl is available.
However, if unusual and/or weird symptoms occur, consult your local vet and action will be taken...
Why does fixed female dogs have a green discharge?
Is he eating a lot of grass? I know my dog loves to eat grass, and I have to stop him from eating too much or he starts throwing it up. Maybe he too pees green when he eats too much grass, but I don't know, I haven't been paying attention.
Your dog wont eat or drink from the bowls what should you do?
Many times this is because they wish to eat with you. If you stand next to the bowl - then will dog eat from it? If you did not raise the dog from puppy - then it was to get food from others who took over the bowl and did not allow dog to eat from said bowl. Two possible issues as to why.
I'm not a vet, but if it were my dog, and this is unusual behavior for it, I wouldn't go more than 2 days without calling the vet.
another answer-
Well my Maltese did that and we had to put like crackers mixed in with the food... that worked and one day we found out by rolling a piece down a wood floor and she thought it was like a treat and she would play with it and then finally eat it..... !!!! it REALLY works!
I have never seen one but i suppose you could colour/dye one providing it is safe to do so
Why has your dog suddenly started licking the floors?
This is probably a learned behavior - I would suspect your dog is going after trace scents of food or something else that smells good to it. Thorough cleaning with a scent-removing product (there are several decent ones on the market) may help reduce the incidence of this behavior, but it would take dedication and training to eliminate it completely.
My dog is throwing up and shaking?
It would definitely be advisable to contact a veterinarian. While I wouldn't be concerned if it only happened once, repeated instances, especially over a short period of time, could be a sign of something serious. Use your best judgment. You know your dog best. And don't hesitate to contact a vet just to be sure everything is OK with your dog. For more information, see the links below.
Can a dog sense when his owner is not happy?
YES! Dogs can become very agitated and distressed when owners leave the home even for short periods of time. Some will whine, urinate (lose bladder control), bark, yelp, chew, scratch, etc. That is why some dog owners are better off placing their pets in cages while they are at work or out on errands.
Pets may be reluctant to caging at first, but soon get used to it. This is the best way to ensure pets do not become stressed out (and homes are not destroyed) in the absence of owners.
Are dogs smarter than coyotes?
yes and no. well because some coyotes are not the sharpest tool in the shed, but yes because they are technically related to the "dog family." so it really depends on perspective you look at it.
Nature or Nurture question. Coyotes grownup in the wild often out maneuver humans or dogs trained to run them down. From pups on, it was a matter of survival.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no peer-reviewed, double-blind studies comparing wild coyotes even to the doggie IQ scale. I grew up around them and am a 30+ year trainer. They are certainly not the dim bulb on the string. From observed behavior, probably around the Belgium Malinois (a few steps down the scale from the German Shepherd). Very clever animals.
How do you introduce a new puppy to an older dog?
Make sure that your new puppy will be submissive to your three year old dog. Take them to neutural grounds (like a park or a common area) to meet for the first time. Put your puppy on its side or back, and have it submit to your older dog. Then walk the two together, your puppy behind your older dog. When you get home, your older dog gets to go in through the door before the puppy. Always be sure that your puppy is submissive to your older dog, and walk them everyday as a pack for them to bond. If your three year old dog is aggressive with other dogs or doesn't like to accept other humans and animals in the pack, then you should reconsider getting a puppy and consult a perfessional. *Slowly introduce them to each other. Never just put them in a room or yard together and leave them alone. The older dog may be territorial. Something that you may not be aware of until you try to introduce a new dog into it's territory. Slowly and patiently is what it will take.

What do you do if your dog eats a soda can?
Absolutely nothing(except maybe make them burp!:) ) It will not hurt your dog at all, but chocolate will. Dogs should never eat chocolate, because it could be fatal. My dog has eaten a lot of chocolate by accident, but you should still be careful. Cocoa powder is the most harmful form of chocolate to them. A whole can of pure cocoa powder would kill them if they ate it. I luv gaby rr

How do you treat your dog when he has a cold in his eye?
The best answer is the same way you would "treat" yourself if you had a simple cold - rest and drink plenty of fluids. The common cold is caused by a virus, so antibiotics are not effective and may actually make the dog sicker. You may choose to simply observe your dog at home to make sure he's not getting too sick, as most healthy dogs can work through a cold within 3-5 days. However, if your dog has a chronic health condition (such as diabetes, Cushing's, etc.), is on daily medications (prescribed by the vet, including prednisone and Rimadyl for arthritis), appears to be getting very ill or doesn't get better within a few days, you should take him to your vet.
How can i teach my puppy to come when called?
The same thing you do with any other dog, you get its attention. By patting your legs, whistling, calling its name, or if your dog love to play with a tennis ball like mine you could even through it in the air to get its attention. Jack Russell's are no different than other dogs, all dogs can be stubborn when they want to be, and in that way dogs are just like people.

If it is not actually choking, there are some other possibilities.
