How can I get my neighbor to confine her dog?

The way to get your neighbor to keep her Doberman Pincher in her yard is to hand her the vet bills! Yes, you have every legal right to do so. Her dog came onto YOUR property. This dog can do some great damage and you can bet if your Pitbull decides to take on this Doberman and does damage your neighbor will charge you for vet bills. Also call the ASPCA and report it and do it the next time her dog comes into the yard. This Doberman Pincher is asking for trouble! I once had a problem like this before, except is was between my cat and my neighbor's German Shephard. You see, my cat was walking around in my backyard, and the neighbor's dog kept looking through the various holes in the fence. One day, when I happened to be outside, Bear, the German Shephard, busted through the fence after my cat. Anyway, to get to the point, after the first try, he kept coming back after my cat. So eventually, I called animal patrol to see if they could help with the problem. The woman who came out to help told me that the reason that Bear keeps breaking through the patched up fence is not only that he is chasing our cat, but also that because he has actually been in our yard and urinated, the know thinks that our yard is part of HIS territory. So anyway, to try to help, mabye you have the same kind of problem. Mabye this Doberman thinks of your yard as HER yard, even if there are 2 other dogs occupying "her new territory". Mabye if they get her fixed it would help a little. Hope I helped!!! =) ~Jessica~

How do you separate female dog in heat from male dog?

You really shouldn't try to separate them when they are tied. They will eventually "come apart" on their own. If the tie is lasting over an hour you can push their rear ends together (towards each other) and hold them there. It may help relieve the tension that is keeping the bulb of the males penis enlarged and he will slip out.

Will the tie happen if female dog is not in heat?

it can happen. This has even happened with females who were fixed. However, a female dog MAY still be in heat even if she is no longer bleeding. Heat cycles usually last 3 weeks. Be sure to keep the female away from any intact males for her entire cycle

What age should you breed a staffy?

Almost all breeds of dog come into season twice a year for 10-14 days. Every six months your Staffy should come into season (or heat) and will attract other males. Your female will continue to do this until the age of about 8 or 9 years old unless she is spayed. Spaying can be beneficial to the dog's health as it can prevent mammary tumours and life-threatening womb infections.

If you mean the English Mastiff or Old English Mastiff, they grow to 32 inches tall, and 175 - 200 lbs. Although the breed originates from the UK, I understand that they are called "Mastin" in French-speaking countries.

Does a dog know when her puppy dies?

When pets experience a sudden change, it upsets the balance in their lives, just as it does in ours. The loss of another dog (whether it's a "sister" dog in the house, or the dog next door who moves away) or of a beloved human (your son or daughter who has grown and left home) can be a large emotional hurdle for a dog.

Sometimes the other dog or dogs in the household grieve so deeply that they stop eating, jeopardizing their own health. This is more likely to happen if the dogs had never been separated. If any of your dogs react to a loss so strongly they become ill, take them to the vet. The pack has undergone a major transition, and it will take some time to adjust.

When getting a female puppy spayed will it calm them down some?

Spaying and neutering is an incredibly important thing to have done to your dog or cat. It not only helps save you thousands of dollars in vet bills, food, and other doggie items that will be associated with a pregnant dog it also has health benefits. Your dog will likely be healthier, live longer and not be in discomfort. It also does have the potential to calm a very energetic dog. Your dog will still be energetic as that is her nature, but she will be less so. Remember to still play and take her for walks to exercise her, not only for her sanity, but yours as well!

Can you breed 2 dogs from the same father?

It wouldn't be smart because if the have the same father( brother and sister) they would be more likely to have mutations or serious health problems. Like when you breed brother and sister cats they have double paws. I would ask a vet or animal specialest. That would be your best bet.

it depends on the size of the mother and father. if the male is smaller and the female is larger then, it is more likely to have more but small puppies. then again, if you have a small female and a large male, then it is likely to have just a couple of large puppies. i have small males and large females, so my littler are usually bigger and i love small puppies, so i can thank the dad for that. good luck!

Do Newfoundland puppies sleep a lot?

yes
yes puppies sleep a lot because they need the sleep to grow as any baby does and they are not fully developed so they get tired quickly. Yes puppies will play hard then sleep approximately every 20 minutes. They like the feeling of someone beside them, holding them or even if they are on your lap. Be sure your puppy has the right puppy food, lots of water and it's about 10 - 15 minutes after they eat or drink that they will have to go outside to the bathroom. This is part of their training so they don't mess in the house. NEVER hit your puppy for peeing or pooping on the rug/floor because they are just a baby. Shake your finger at them, pick them up and put them outside (YOU STAY OUTSIDE WITH THEM) because the world outside is a big place to such a little puppy.

Can the father dog mate with his daughter?

Yes (once the puppy is old enough), and so can we. We and many animals don't normally do incest because there is a higher chance of expressing a bad recessive gene. It does not mean there absolutely will be a bad recessive gene or deformity but there is a higher chance. Animals don't think about recessive genes when mating, but the offspring has a higher chance of not reaching the reproductive stage and is therefore discouraged from an evolutionary stand point.
