That are some signs that your dog might be sick or if its very old it's time will arrive soon. Depending if your dog's a female she might be pregnant. You should take your dog to a veterinarian if he/she continues laying down and seems weak. Bit most probably it is sick or it's time has come.

Processed dog food doesn't contain the amino acid taurine, which is necessary for healthy eye development in cats, so a cat should never be fed exclusively on dry dog food.

There is no cure for the common cold, which is caused by a coronavirus or rhinovirus. As this is a viral infection, antibiotics (which are only effective against bacteria) will not help and can cause other problems for your puppy.

The good news is, for the most part these viruses are self-limiting and your puppy will clear the virus within a week. If your pup has diarrhea, then you need to take him or her in to see your Veterinarian. Bring in a fecal sample too. Be sure to tell your Vet that you have seen tapeworm segments, look like grains of rice. Roundworms look like spaghetti. Internal parasites do not necessarily cause diarrhea so you need to find the real reason for the diarrhea. Has your pup had any vaccines against Parvo, distemper, etc.? Be sure you are feeding a good name brand of puppy food too, not some cheap generic brand.

You may clean any animals' minor cut in the same way you would clean a humans' minor cut. Hydrogen Peroxide to clean/sterilize and you may want to use a triple antibiotic such as neosporine or like ointment/cream to treat and fight infection. I am not an expert or a vet I am just a professional dog trainer. I personally believe peroxide is ok but if you let a dog lick a spot where you put neosporine it can have damaging affects on the liver. Pleae ask your vet! ----

I am not aware of a national dog which represents all of the USA. The most popular dog for the last several years -- according to American Kennel Club registrations -- has been the Labrador Retriever. Also, the American Pit Bull Terrier has been used extensively in old war posters from the early 1900s, representing the "neutral but unafraid" America. But officially, I don't think America has a national dog per se.
