How rare is it to get a male calico cat?

Not very rare. There are quite a few around.

Albinism is a rare genetic condition existing in all plant and animal life. For every physical characteristic that a living creature displays, there are two genes. Some of these genes are dominate while the others are recessive, or "hidden" Albinos are simply born without pigments in their flesh.

Not all white animals are albino, and there is no such thing as part-albinos. If an animal has coloration or dark eyes, they are only white, not albino, a true albino will have either red eyes, or a very translucent blue with a faded appearing iris, depending on the species of animal.

In order for the albino recessive gene to be able to make an albino individual, the parents of that offspring must both have at least been carrying that recessive gene, or were fully albino, thus only capable of passing on the albino gene. In any case, wild animals born albino tend to die because they do not blend in with their surroundings. But domestic animals may show up albino more often due to humans selectively breeding them for the trait. They are not always blind as goes common theory, however, an albino animal will battle a larger scope of health problems, which may include blindness, deafness, and immune efficiencies.

At any rate, an albino, because they have no pigment in their tissues, sun burn easily, and often go blind from sun exposure, and have a higher rate for cancer. Thus, despite how mysterious and exotic albino animals are, they should not breed with other albinos so as to prolong the gene, because the deficiencies will only get worse with subsequent generations. This is why we had our albino dog neutered. The deaf albino tigers in the zoo that cause people to suspect all albinos are deaf are a result of inbreeding, and prolonging the albino trait which resulted in the deaf gene to affect all albino tigers in captivity, it was due to limited breeding stock to desperately attempt to save a species, not a characteristic of albinos in general.

Where does the manx cat live?

The Manx cat is a domestic cat breed which is widely known for having either no, or a very short tail. Manx cats, like all domestic cats, can live happily indoors or with access to outside. However, due to the Manx cat's unnusual appearance in lack of a tail, there is a risk of theft if it has access to outside. Building a cat run or letting the cat out in a harness limits such risk, and allows the cat to enjoy the outside without any danger.

What kind of cat is the most annoying?

Cats are extremely alert and are always on the look-out for danger or fast moving objects. They do not like to be spoken to in an objectionable manner, so one must always be polite when addressing a cat. When you call a dog, he will always be glad to see you and come running when called, a cat however, will take one look at you and say "I'll get to you later!"

Can you adopt a cat out of state?

You can generally adopt a dog in another city, because not every city has an animal shelter. I don't know why you wouldn't, but you can check with the shelter just in case you can't. I've adopted many animals, not all dogs, from out of town, so there should be no problem.

Can a cat be hermaphrodite?

I believe our cat is a hermaphrodite. We have had her for 2 years she recently had kittens and now there are testicles where there weren't any before! I know it sounds weird but it's true. They are VERY noticeable I just think it so weird that they appeared after giving birth. If anyone has any information about this please write back. Thank you.An ex-GF gave me a kitten. At first female. As I was living by myself in my own house I didn't want to de-claw & was leaning to not fixing her. Of course I was dreading to see how bad the whole heat thing would be but it never happened.

After between 18mo-2yrs I also noticed testes where there hadn't been any prior (yes that does happen, who knew?). The vet told me that she (he/she) had both & that neither worked. So yea! no fixing required.

Hannah Cat is normal, playful (but really overly dramatic; guess that's what you get w/ a Himalayan/Siamese mix). She's never done the heat thing & I caught her "marking territory" once; by the front door.

Can cats be half Russian blue half tabby?

Before I answer, I feel it necessary to point out that a Tortoiseshell is not a breed, only a color variation.

But about the Persian thing, the only cats I know that came from the Persian are Himalayans, and the Exotics. Breeding a Persian and a Domestic Shorthair (moggy) whom has no pedigree would result in mixed-breed moggy kittens.
