How is Count Dracula first introduced in the movie?

You generally find Count Dracula is introduced in movies when he first opens the door to Jonathan Harker at Castle Dracula. It is always a dramatic way to initiate the appearance of such a sinister character. This has happened right from the beginning when the silent film Nosferatu was made. Right through to Bela Lugosi standing on top of the steps, and Gary Oldman and his sweeping gestures inviting Harker in:

"Count Dracula?" He bowed in a courtly way as he replied:-

"I am Dracula. And I bid you welcome, Mr. Harker, to my house. Come in; the night air is chill, and you must need to eat and rest."

How did they make the giant spider webs in Dracula and Mark of the Vampire and other films?

According to IMDB Trivia for Dracula, the spiderwebs were made "by shooting rubber cement from a rotary gun". This isn't exactly practical for the modern apartment dweller/home owner, and I'd be surprised if the technique created those neat patterns that spiders weave for their webs.

It would be nice to be able to create webs that are as big as the ones in those movies; they look great!

How many boxes of dirt did Count Dracula send out?

In the book, Dracula, the Count's solicitors: Samuel F. Billington & Son of Whitby, write to the carriers, Carter, Paterson & Co., London, regarding 'goods' being sent to King's Cross in London, which are to be delivered to the old house Dracula has purchased near Purfleet (called Carfax):

".....You will please deposit the boxes, fifty in number, which form the consignment, in the partially ruined building forming part of the house marked 'A' on rough diagram enclosed."

What are some example for Dracula's unusual power?

If you mean examples OF his power, Dracula can transform into or control bats, wolves, and rats. (I believe the novel also mentions owls, though he never turns into one.) He can also control and transform into fog and put his victims into a trance. Many of these powers were associated with various early legends, though since the novel and some films, they seem to be exclusive to Dracula and sometimes those he has sired.

He, of course, possesses typical vampire powers, as well. He can defy gravity and scale walls, has superhuman strength and speed, can slip through cracks in the wall (not a common power, however), etc.

If you mean EXPLANATIONS of Dracula's powers, the novel claims his ancestors (and presumably Dracula himself) learned the dark arts from the Scholomance, or the devil's school. His specific origin, however, is unknown, and many theories have arisen since the novel's publication.

What pact does Mina hold with Dracula in Dracula by Bram Stoker?

Well, originally, the book was suppose to have a romantic element, with Dracula himself, posing as a handsome young man, for Mina to fall in love with. I'm not sure why it was changed, but maybe you or someone else can find out, but then, I guess there is some romance within the story itself.

Francis Ford Coppola created the movie "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992). There the (very) romantic aspects of the story are added or re-added very clearly leading to the conclusion that Mina saves Dracula from hell by cutting of his head in the very presence of God. She sais to him "Our love is stronger than death" just before she swoopes Dracula's own sword against her grand lovers neck.

Can Dracula survive off of black pudding?

If by "black" you mean the pudding with blood in it, possibly, but just "colored" black wouldn't do much for a vampire.

What exactly does bloofer mean My question is in terms of Dracula by Bram Stoker I know Bloofer Lady is what the children call Lucy Westenra but I was wondering what the meaning of the word is?

On this site, they claim that it was Old English slang for "beautiful" lady... http://www.calandrastudio.com/websitepages/blooferlady.html

Wikipedia concurs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dracula

Not sure, because I can't find any official source, but that might be the meaning.

The Norton Critical Edition of Dracula states that the term "bloofer lady" is "Child talk for 'beautiful.'" If you think about it, in English dialect, no less spoken by a small child, "beautiful" could be corrupted to "bloofer."

What is the significance of the blue flame in Dracula?

Mainly, it's to add to the eerie atmosphere of the story.

It's based on an old superstition, though, that says on St. George's Eve, April 22nd of ever year, blue flames appear over the spot in the ground where robbers and marauders buried their stolen treasure.

What happened in dracula to make john seward a dynamic character?

In the beginning, he reserves to science and reason (hence the word "Dr." Seward). However, his belief changes and reserves to superstition to solve problems. That is why Dr. Van Helsing is summoned. He is a doctor of philosophy and does not reserve to reason. So Dr. Van Helsing represents superstition.
