Pretty amazing stuff... not sure what direction you want here... but its amazingly high boiling point due to its variety of intermolecular forces is one thing that comes to mind. Dipole-dipole interactions, London dispersion forces, and especially hydrogen bonding all create an incredibly high boiling point when you compare water with most other binary hydrogen compounds. And then a sweet human comes along to save it only to get a broken heart later.
Why do you lose hot water in the shower when a tap is turned on elsewhere in the house?
this is probably due to improper sizing in your water lines. The lines don't have enough volume to handle everything that's running. Water tries to take the easiest path that it can so if you turn on something that is closer to the water heater or has less bends in the line the hot water will go there. You can increase the line to the tee to a minamum of 3/4".

Stomach bloating after drinking water depends on several factors. Some are how much water is consumed, how fast the water is consumed, what else is in the stomach, and how full the intestines are. One or two 8-ounce glasses of water is unlikely to cause noticeable bloating, but a quart or more of water that is consumed quickly with other food or liquid in the stomach may lead to some bloating. If the intestines are full, bloating after drinking that much water could occur. fagg
The water sitting in pipes inside older homes, and newer homes, too, hold water that is warmer than the pipes that are in the ground leading to those homes. Some people run their tap water for a few minutes before filling their drinking glasses in order to get that cooler water.
Of course, more recently some home owners have been advised to flush their tap water in this way to remove the water that has been in direct contact with corroded lead pipe for an extended time and can therefore be presumed to have a higher lead content than water more recently arrived from the water mains.

How does a person die from drinking too much water?
As human beings are creatures of chemicals, there can always be too much of a good thing. The human body contains many different chemicals called electrolytes that the body depends on for normal functioning. However, these electrolytes must be within a very stable concentration in order to work properly. If a person takes in more water than they can remove, these electrolytes become diluted and the person goes into what is called water intoxication of hyperhydration. In fact, the theory of sports drinks like Gatorade is that if a drink contains not just water, but the correct concentration of electrolytes, there is minimal risk of water intoxication. People on a low-sodium diet are at higher risk of water intoxication, but the people who should truly be concerned are marathon runners, who by nature drink lots and lots of water. However, most people are much more likely to suffer the opposite end of the spectrum: dehydration.
