All mammals (inc birds) require water to survive. Penguins are no exception and will take what water they can find. Penguins are quite unique, however, as they can drink salt water whilst at sea - using special glands around their eye sockets to extract the salt from their blood and is then excreted from the nose/nasal passage as a liquidy form. So if you see a penguin with a runny nose, it isn't cold, it's just removing excess salt :) yes
Why do you need to drink water after a massage?
There are primary reasons for people to drink water after a massage. The first has to do with substances released by the muscles as the massage therapist manipulates them, and the second has to do with ensuring that the muscles of the body are properly hydrated.
In the case of the first reason, water after a massage helps the body flush out any accumulated materials in the muscles which were released during the massage. Especially in the case of deep tissue massage, massage stimulates circulation in the body while expressing water, salt, and other minerals from the muscles, and circulation is designed to carry away waste materials generated by cells. By providing the body with plenty of water, massage clients can help sweep away these waste materials; otherwise, they might build up, causing muscle aches and soreness after a massage.
In the case of lymphatic massage, drinking water after a massage is especially important, as the stimulation of the lymphatic circulation system can generate a large release of wastes in the body. If one thinks of the lymph system as the sewer pipes of the body, collecting unwanted waste material and carrying it away for disposal, lymphatic massage is like a drain cleaner, so water helps flush the drain, in a sense.
Most importantly, people should drink water after a massage because massage can be dehydrating. The manipulation of the muscles depletes them of water, and also moves the fluid in the interstitial spaces between the muscles around. By drinking water, people can rehydrate their muscles, reducing the potential for pain and soreness in the days following a massage. For the same reason, people drink water after exercise and other forms of exertion, because when the muscles are worked, they lose water and electrolytes.
Many people also like to drink a glass of water after a massage because it helps bring them back down to earth. After a massage, people can feel a bit spacey and disoriented; having a glass of water while sitting on the massage table can help bring the body and mind back to the present, and it gives the client time to slowly return to the real world.
I am an LMT and I got this info from wisegeek.com
From another poster:
You do not need to drink it, though it is usually encouraged. In general, water is good for you to drink, and most people do not drink enough. The other reason has to do with the fact that massage is like doing mild exercise, and, during any exercise or work that we do with our bodies, it will run smoother with a little more water. The other reason, and the one that is taught in massage schools, is because it helps flush out metabolic toxins. This is most likely true, though its overall impact on the body may not play that significant of a role. But it sure sounds like a good idea. So, to promote proper functioning of the body, especially after activity, massage therapists are often trained to offer water after they give a massage.

Does drinking lemon with water help you lose belly fat and cleanses?
The is nothing you can eat, drink or do that will lose "belly fat" (there's no such thing). As for cleaning the whole cleaning industry is a sham. Your liver already"cleanses" your body of toxins. A frequent story of pounds of undigested food hanging out in your body for years is a fiction, so enemas are out too.
Alcohol is poisonous. Slugs, being small, are more affected, so beer will kill them.
Alcohol is a poison to humans, too, and if you drink too much, it will kill you, too. Beer in moderate doses is OK, but too much is bad.

How do you remove permanent hardness of water?
The permanent hardness of water is caused by dissolved doubly or triply charged metal cations, which must be removed to remove the permanent hardness. Distillation is a traditional method for removing these and all other ions, but a more economical solution under most circumstances is contacting the water with an ion exchange medium that can replace the doubly or triply charged cations with singly charged cations such as those of sodium and/or potassium. The reason this works is that most doubly or triply charged cations form precipitates with the anionic portion of soaps or anionic detergents, but singly charged cations form more soluble salts that do not precipitate.
Does drinking water get methadone out of system faster?

Which mineral is added to most drinking water in the US to assist in tooth development?
Water has a combination of many things in it, even when it reaches your home. According to a report sponsored by Ralph Nader, at least 2,110 different components have been found in drinking water supplies. Contaminants such as lead, asbestos, and trihalomethanes, could still be in your water supply after the water leaves the treatment plant. Things like nitrates, nitrites, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chlorine, fluoride, lithium, and sulphates are just some of the other inorganic (don't contain carbon) elements of our drinking water.
Can you drink water with table salt?
You can drink it, but it's not good for you. If there is a high salinity in the water it will actually draw the water out of your body to dilute the amount in your stomach. This will result in dehydration and all it's the effects, which can be potentially fatal. Fresh water contains less than 0.5 grams of salt per litre. Salt sea water has more than 50 grams of salt per litre.
Does Drinking water make your hair fall out?
There is no proof that drinking tap water makes you bald. It's genetics. Some women going through menopause can lose hair near the crown to their forehead. Men often have "male pattern baldness." Take a look at your family and you'll know what I mean by genetics. Drinking tap water may cause hair loss for people who suffer from zinc deficiency. Tap water may contain excess copper, from copper pipes, which prevents absorption of zinc by the small intestine. This causes deficiency of zinc, which in turn causes hair loss. People who are in vegetarian diet may face this problem more than those who eat red meat, because zinc availability from plant sources are less. A zinc supplement taken regularly could avoid this problem.

Can drinking cold water cause kidney pain?
I highly doubt that it can cause kidney pain. I'm not a doctor, but am in the medical field. To the best of my knowledge, you could experience some nausea (due to the temperature difference of your body and the water) or brain freeze if you drink it too fast. As you drink water, your body warms it up while going to the rest of your body. Blood runs through your kidneys to get filtered not the water itself. The ending results (or the expelled substance) is excess water or water that could not be reabsorbed along with other mumbo jumbo. But, I guess you could say that you can get hypothermia if you submerge your WHOLE body in water of almost freezing temperatures, which could result in acute renal failure.

Swallowing this substance can result in a number of nasty effects, including: Lowering body temperature to dangerous levels Making breathing difficult, or even halting it entirely Blurring vision Causing nausea and vomiting Elevating and then dropping blood pressure Causing seizures or tremors Sending the ingester into a coma Pfizer's cautions to users of Visine include, 'If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.' In view of the above list, that advice should not be taken lightly."
