How would you describe the stages of volcanic ativity?

Volcanic activity typically progresses through stages such as unrest (increased seismic activity and gas emissions), eruption (release of magma, ash, and gases), and repose (periods of inactivity). During an eruption, various types of volcanic hazards can occur, including lava flows, pyroclastic flows, ash fall, and volcanic gases. Monitoring these stages is crucial for predicting eruptions and mitigating risks to human populations.

Aluminum oxide to remove DVD scratches?

You fix DVDs by using a kit with a series of abrasives, from course to light, to wear down scratches - step by step - to a smooth finish. Professional systems use multiple abrasives, consisting of different hardness and shapes (sharp to smooth). Regardless of product or system used, the key is to use a series of abrasives (more than one stage) to gradually bring the plastic back to a polished surface. If you want to remove all scratches on your DVD, take a look at the 5-stage Scratch Pro repair kit. It will bring the DVD back to its original shine and you will have a kit on hand to fix the next one. Also do a search for scratch repair to see what is out there in your area. To do a targeted search, use the + sign in front of the search words +DVD +scratch +repair

Does magnet therapy work?

Magnet therapy has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine. It is theorized that magnets are able to break up stagnation by rearranging energy (Qi) in to an organized manner so that it can flow freely (much as you notice shards of steel are organized and all facing one direction after a magnet is passed over them). In Chinese medicine, pain is a result of a stagnation of blood and Qi; where Qi goes, blood follows. The unobstructed flow of Qi is vital to good health according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncturists manipulate the flow of Qi using many tool and techniques, including acupuncture needles and magnets, thus reducing pain by resolving Qi and blood stagnation. ==Alt Answer== Magnets have not been shown to have any affect on the blood. There are trace elements of iron in the blood, but way too little to have any affect on flow. There simply isn't anything in the blood that reacts to magnets. Just because it's used in China, doesn't mean it works. Parts of China are very poor, and they are unable to afford western medicine. They develop alternative medicine due to human nature. "I took x and got better. Therefore x fixed me." This is not always the case. Many people take x, and still die, but they aren't around to tell the tale.

Formula for aspect ratio?

example: one bedroom in ahouse is 10ft by 10ft. tne other bedroom is 15ft by 15ft. which is a correct coparison of the size of the two rooms? * the larger room has 1 1/2 times the area of the smaller room. * the larger room has over twice the are of the smaller room. the ratio of the areas of the two rooms is area larger / area samaller = 225/100 or 2.25 thus, the second statement is correct. drawing diagrams provides a visual check.

Why does a DVD fade light to dark to light?

The LightScribe method uses the laser in a way similar to when plain data is written to the disc; a greyscale image of the label is etched onto the upper side of the disc. In the beginning, the discs were available only in a sepia color but today are available in many colors.

When a DVD is read laser light touches the DVD surface and is measured at location a what allows light to return to location a after striking the DVD surface?

The light returning to location A after striking the DVD surface is reflected back due to its interaction with the pits and lands on the DVD surface. The pits and lands are variations in the surface of the DVD that reflect the laser light differently, which is read by a sensor to interpret the data stored on the DVD.

How do you disassemble a Panasonic wetdry shaver?

If your Panasonic ES-364 shaver is not working, try pulling on the smaller of the two electrodes that protrude from the bottom of the shaver. If your shaver now works, you may want to just want to use it as-is. If you're note content with that, or want to disassemble your shaver for any other reason, read on.

First, take the shaver outside and use a can of air to clean the shaver. Repeat this at various stages of the disassembly, being careful not to lose any parts!

Remove the two screws at the bottom (the end that plugs in to the charger) of the shaver, and remove the bottom cover. Keep track of the two small washers, and a small flat plastic piece, about 10mm square that fits inside of the cover - these keep the unit waterproof.

Open the shaver head, and remove the blade assembly from the white plastic vibrating arm by pulling on it - it will pop off. Undo the two screws on either side of the arm, keeping track of the two small washers under the plate - these will tend to stay in place and stick to the metal plate or the plastic underneath the plate.

Press on the mechanism from the end you first opened, and notice a gap opening up where at the other end, just below the head latch button and hinge. Gently pry open this crack, and work the case apart. Keep the large O-ring that seals the case, and make a note of its orientation so that you can assemble it the same way.

This has been too easy, I know, so there is one headache. I have not figured out how to remove the sliding trimmer assembly. Because of this, I found it was necessary to pry the large black U-shaped plastic clamp from the vibrating arm at the same time you pull the innards out of the case. If you figure out a solution to this, please update this article.

The power switch operates by a small white lever, with an O-ring, that moves when you slide the exterior switch assembly, to make electrical contact. If your shaver is failing to turn on due to the problem mentioned in the first paragraph, find the white plastic piece that is blocking the switch, bend it out a bit with tweezers, and snip it off.

At this point, you pretty much have the shaver apart, and the question was not about assembling, was it? LOL.

How do magnets work?

Magnets have magnetic fields that attract items containing iron. Some of the substances attracted to magnets include iron, nickel, and steel. To understand a magnet you must first understand the magnetic field. A magnetic field is created as the result of moving charges such as electrons. A magnet's magnetic field either attracts or repels certain metals, as well as other magnets. A magnet has two ends that are referred to as poles. One pole is called north and the other one is referred to as south. To attract magnets to each other, you have to place opposite ends of two magnets near each other. Placing like ends of two magnets near each other causes the opposite to occur; the two magnets repel each other. A magnet is any object that has a magnetic field. It attracts ferrous objects like pieces of iron, steel, nickel and cobalt. In the early days, the Greeks observed that the naturally occurring 'lodestone' attracted iron pieces. From that day onwards began the journey into the discovery of magnets. These days magnets are made artificially in various shapes and sizes depending on their use. One of the most common magnets - the bar magnet - is a long, rectangular bar of uniform cross-section that attracts pieces of ferrous objects. The magnetic compass needle is also commonly used. The compass needle is a tiny magnet which is free to move horizontally on a pivot. One end of the compass needle points in the North direction and the other end points in the South direction. The end of a freely pivoted magnet will always point in the North-South direction. The end that points in the North is called the North Pole of the magnet and the end that points South is called the South Pole of the magnet. It has been proven by experiments that like magnetic poles repel each other whereas unlike poles attract each other. What is a magnetic field? The space surrounding a magnet, in which magnetic force is exerted, is called a magnetic field. If a bar magnet is placed in such a field, it will experience magnetic forces. However, the field will continue to exist even if the magnet is removed. The direction of magnetic field at a point is the direction of the resultant force acting on a hypothetical North Pole placed at that point. When current flows in a wire, a magnetic field is created around the wire. From this it has been inferred that magnetic fields are produced by the motion of electrical charges. A magnetic field of a bar magnet thus results from the motion of negatively charged electrons in the magnet. Just as an electric field is described by drawing the electric lines of force, in the same way, a magnetic field is described by drawing the magnetic lines of force. When a small north magnetic pole is placed in the magnetic field created by a magnet, it will experience a force. And if the North Pole is free, it will move under the influence of magnetic field. The path traced by a North magnetic pole free to move under the influence of a magnetic field is called a magnetic line of force. In other words, the magnetic lines of force are the lines drawn in a magnetic field along which a north magnetic pole would move. The direction of a magnetic line of force at any point gives the direction of the magnetic force on a north pole placed at that point. Since the direction of magnetic line of force is the direction of force on a North Pole, so the magnetic lines of force always begin on the N-pole of a magnet and end on the S-pole of the magnet. A small magnetic compass when moved along a line of force always sets itself along the line tangential to it. So, a line drawn from the South Pole of the compass to its North Pole indicates the direction of the magnetic field. # The magnetic lines of force originate from the North Pole of a magnet and end at its South Pole. # The magnetic lines of force come closer to one another near the poles of a magnet but they are widely separated at other places. # The magnetic lines of force do not intersect (or cross) one another. # When a magnetic compass is placed at different points on a magnetic line of force, it aligns itself along the tangent to the line of force at that point. These are just some of the basic concepts of magnetism. One cannot possibly grasp the depth and appreciate the versatility of magnets without reading more about the uses of magnets, the Earth as a huge magnet and electromagnetism among other things.

How many layers does a DVD have?

How do you hook up tv DVD vcr and cable to your pip so it all works and you can't find the owner's manual?

Directions from my grandson:

step 1: hook up all the three spliter or red, yellow and white cords into the appropriate places on the back of your tv and your DVD or vcr. Just hook one up and try it; then put it in another location until you get it right. My DVD/tv told me where to place stuff; my brand new HD tv did not.

step 2: my grandson neglected to tell me! On your remote for your tv might be an <strong>"input" button</strong>. You have to press the input button and select DVD or VCR so your tv knows what to play. It took me several hours to figure out this last step! It seems all the experts forget it! Sherrie

If you have direct tv and a cable box a DVD a vcr with surround sound and you would like each one to be able to go through the surround sound how should you hook them all up?

I don't understand why you would have Direct TV (sattelite) and cable TV? However, it depends on the input/output combinations of each component. I have my coaxial cable from my sattelite to the sattelite in jack on the sattelite receiver, the out to TV coaxial from the sattelite receiver run to my VCR plugged to antenna in on the VCR and a coaxial cable from the VCR to the TV coaxial antenna in on the TV. That way, you can watch sattelite without turning the VCR on, but the sattelite receiver has to be off to watch VCR or VHS tapes. Then, run video patch cords (red, white and yellow) out of the DVD to the TV (if the TV has those types of inputs on the back) If you want all three components (sattelite, VCR and DVD) to run through surround sound and NOT the TV, run only the yellow video cord from the DVD to the TV. Run the red and white to the surround sound receiver for each component. Your surround receiver should have multiple inputs for sattelite/cable, VCR and DVD.

Can bad code from a DVD corrupt a DVD player?

No normally the DVD player will just say that it can not read the disk. If the disk is damaged, dirty, wet, or even broken in places then it can damaged the laser and other equipment.

Most new DVD players can read pretty damaged disks.

Damaged as in scratches, smudges, and other small disfigures.

It being dirty probably isn't much of an issue unless its absolutely covered in dust, has chemicals on it, or has other things that you probably should not put on it.

How much do dvds cost?

The cost of DVDs can vary depending on the title, age, condition, and where you purchase them. On average, new DVDs can range from $10 to $20, while used DVDs can be found for as low as $1 to $5. Special edition or rare DVDs may cost more.

Why is it important to be reliable and dependable?

Can a TV with built in VHS be converter to play DVDs?

Theoretically, you could remove the entire VHS mechanism and insert a DVD player, but the cost would probably be prohibitive. I bought a refurbished LCD tv with a built-in DVD player for under $100, and I'm sure that the conversion you are talking about would be far more than that.
