Is the fashion industry need to have the responsible on eating disorders?
the fashion industry affects eating disorders negatively because it sets its standards of beauty to unreachable goals... thin is okay as long as it is natural, some girls are born stick thin and cant do anything about it fine but showing only stick thin girls who represent a small population of people is really unfair for women of all ages, indeed young women see the models on the catwalks so thin, want to be like them and so try to lose weight at any cost... that's where eating disorders come along: losing weight is fine but has to be done the right way, by eating healthier foods, going to the gym, but avoiding eating or using diet pills and vomiting are not only health hazards but it can distort your whole body system.... sareen :)
How long does it take to lose 90 pounds by starving yourself?
ahah i think you'd die way before then If you eat nothing at all for more than a few weeks you will die. However, if you want a mathematical answer, 90 pounds of fat is equal to about 315,000 calories. If you eat 1000 calories fewer than your metabolic needs (which are going to get lower and lower as your metabolism slows), you could lose the 90 pounds in about a year. This is not adjusting for muscle loss of course, as you will most likely lose muscle in the process as well. The more protein you provide yourself and the more you weight lift the less muscle you will lose. However, if you "starve" yourself you are inviting a host of nutritional deficiencies. I'd recommend eating liver every other day if you're seriously considering a "starvation" approach.
How does Anorexia causing intolerance to the cold?
People who suffer from anorexia tend to weigh less than the average person and often have significantly lower body fat percentages. This - along with a lack of proper vitamins and minerals - can lead to a person with anorexia feeling cold, often when others are not. Fat and skin and muscle are the key factors that keep people warm. They are like a layer of insulation around our warm core and organs. Without this protective layer, the body must work harder to maintain a proper body temperature. This is very difficult, so the core temperature often drops a few degrees, making the person feel cold.
Why is binge and purge cycle dangerous?
The binge-and-purge cycle (commoly referred to by the notation "b/p") is often seen in eating disroders like bulimia. It begins with a person "bingeing". This is where they consume large amounts of caloires (thousands, literally) in a short amount of time. To them rid their bodies of these calories so as not to gain weight, the person will then "purge". This is usually either forcefully throwing up or by use of harsh laxatives. This process repeats daily or weekly and become known as a cycle.

Who fast will someone with bulimia lose weight?
"Anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are the two main eating disorders. People with anorexia have extreme weight loss as a result of very strict dieting. Some people may also make themselves sick, abuse laxatives or do excessive exercise to try and lose weight. In spite of this extreme weight loss, people with anorexia believe they are fat and are terrified of becoming what is in fact a normal weight or shape. About four out of ten people with fully established anorexia make a full recovery, and others improve. Only about three in ten continue to have major long-term illness. Untreated, about 15 per cent of all sufferers will die from the disorder within 20 years of its onset."

I am not sure why you are eating chalk in the first place. Eating items not usually considered food is called pica. This website is quite good. http://www.metrokc.gov/health/tsp/pica.htm I suggest a visit to a physician to ensure you are not suffering any medical condition which would cause a craving for this unusual substance. If nothing comes to light then some psychological insight might be helpful to help break the habit. http://www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/684363/2/istockphoto_684363_halloween_candy_w_spider_ring.jpg I would figure that eating the multi colored pill type candy pictured here; would satisfy the chalk eating experience.
How can you improve concentration of mind?
Meditation is not a religious, nor spiritual practice. It is a mechanical practice that often yields a spiritual result.
This practice of emptying one's mind and paying close attention to (following) one's breathing often leaves one with a mind uncluttered, relaxed and quite present. A mind in this state finds it easier to concentrate.
Do laxative pills work the same as liquid laxatives?
yes, they both work as the same. I take either one and they both do the job for me.
It can depend on which "laxative" you are taking though. For instance Movicol and Sodium docusate are both "laxatives", one is a capule and one is a powder that dissolves in water. However they both work in different ways to facilitate bowel movements.
You cannot buy laxatives upfront if you are a minor or if you are below 18.
the reason you start to vomit is because your food gets stuck and pushes back out

That one is called anorexia nervosa. Bulimia involves the use of vomiting and/or laxatives to purge the food, though it is possible to be both anorexic and bulimic. Note that most bulimics appear to have normal weights, as they do not usually restrict the food to the extent that anorexics will.
Is over exercising an eating disorder?
Though technically, by definition, over exercising isn't an 'eating' disorder, it can be severely damaging to your body to overexercise it. Also, if you are overexercising so much that you don't stop and take time to eat, then it becomes an eating disorder.
How can you stop being bulimic on your own?
Look at yourself after you self induce vomiting/ take laxatives or purge in any other way. Look. Focus on your face and note down all the good things and don't even spare one thought to your flaws (if you have any) then work your way down to the rest of your body. Have a positive look on your body in all aspects. Take a long time concentrating on what is good about your body. Then watch things like Fat Families, or The Biggest Loser, or another trashy TV show where they have obese, or overweight people and allow yourself to be grateful that you don't look like that. Allow yourself to be horrible and comment on their unfortunate state. It sounds cruel but this will skyrocket your self esteem. When you do find yourself in a situation where you will compare yourself to overs, don't. Just concentrate on something else. If you do compare yourself think about that TV show. You don't look like that do you? Be grateful for that. Now it is time to eat. To start off with you don't want to starve at all, just eat fruit and vegetables and drink a lot of water. This is not a diet. You want to be eating so you don't binge and actually gain weight where you feel you have to purge. Everyday add a bit more fruit or vegetables, then the next week have a slice of bread every day etc etc, so you gradually build up to a normal diet. When you want to purge contact someone immediately.
I hope you get over this. I did, so can you I hope. Remember this is gradual change. Try not to purge. This requires effort. If it doesn't work contact medical help, and this is not medical advice
Why does alcohol cause binge eating?
Answer
Eating disorders such as binge-eating are influenced by multiple factors:
- behavior, emotions, and attitudes surrounding weight, body appearance and food issues.
- Fashion magazines, toys, media, society, fashion, friends, and spirituality impact the way we see ourselves, how we think of food and how these two factors interact.
- We are given unrealistic images and expectations (a 6 foot model weighing 105 pounds + eating a 1,000+ calorie burger -- these images contradict each other).
How we process these factors(this can be influenced by family history) can lead to binge-eating.
