4-20 ma loop testing?

Yes a 4 - 20 ma loop can be tested.

What wire size is need in a detached garage that will have a 15 amp table saw?

I would use 3/12 to take care of that, connecting one line for tools and the other for lighting.

What is an unbalanced circuit?

An unbalanced circuit refers to an electrical circuit where the components or loads are not symmetrically distributed, leading to unequal voltage or current across different branches. This can result in imbalances in performance, increased losses, and potential overheating of components. Unbalanced circuits are common in single-phase systems and can affect the overall efficiency and stability of electrical systems. Proper design and analysis are crucial to mitigate the negative effects of unbalanced conditions.

What is wye delta motor control?

It is a method of starting a three phase motor at a lower than operating voltage. The motor is operated at that voltage for a short specific time and then the controls switch to the motors full run operating voltage.

Do you need water to make electricity?

No, but virtually every large scale power plant uses water in an industrial fashion.

But the little generator I use when camping does not have or use any water.

Looking for a connection wiring diagram for 30 HP 3 phase 380 volt motor?

The connection wiring diagram is usually on the inside of the motor's junction box cover. If the motor has three wires at the junction box then these wires are connected to the three incoming supply wires. If there is more than three wires, check the motor's nameplate to see if the motor is a dual voltage motor.

Can you run Romex through a wire mold?

The key is that you don't want to cause over-heating in wire. The answer is you can probably do what you want unless it involves high current and a small cross section in wire mold such that the Romex could generate too much heat. You could always strip out the wires inside the Romex and just run them in the wire mold.

Can a light bulb cause fire?

Yes it can. If a light bulb breaks, the exposed filament will burn out within a couple of seconds and can ignite something with the spark when the filament breaks. Special bulbs can be made for explosive environments to minimize the risk of ignition, such as lighting at a refueling station.

A light bulb can also be in close proximity to a combustible substance when it is operating and can cause a fire by making the combustible substance too hot. Florescent lights are less likely to cause fires because they run cooler and are safer in hazardous environments where a conventional light bulb would not be good.

<<<>>>

No. The filament will burn out in milliseconds not seconds and not enough time to ignite anything in a normal atmosphere. Special bulbs are not made for explosive environments it is the fixture that the bulb goes into that have the explosion proof rating. Fluorescent lamps in hazardous environments again are protected by the fixture that they are installed into.

If the light bulb breaks the filament will be exposed to oxygen in the air and burn itself open. It is when the light bulb is in close proximity to a combustible substance when it is operating, that a fire hazard becomes a reality.

What were the problems with inventing the light bulb?

It cuts down on candles manufactured, big maintenance cost, wasted energy when there is heat going off the bulb, it is very fragile-the lightbulb can break very easily in a vibrational environment, they are expensive to replace, a lot of money in energy costs, the light bulb is useless during a power outage, though the main disadvantage is that it is an energy waster

Are there any materials that undergo strong contraction when an electric current is introduced?

Yes, all piezoelectric materials exhibit the reverse piezoelectric effect.

A piezoelectric material is one that generates an electric field or electric potential in response to applied mechanical stress. Therefore, in the reverse case, passing an electric current through the material or an electric potential across the material, will cause it to contract or elongate, depending on the direction of the current.

One of the best example of this is lead zirconate titanate which will contract/elongate up to about 0.1% of the original dimensions.

Is there another use for semiconductors other than to conduct electricity?

Yes. In electronic devices, semiconductors fulfill a variety of functions, including current filtering - a semiconductor diode only lets current pass in one direction - and signal amplification, using transistors. Transistors have many uses, including for electronic switching. Do some reading on diodes and transistors, while bearing in mind that they use semiconductors.

Use the Bell & Howard codes. It seems to work for most Aiwa TV's. I think the code is 10154

Why is residential wiring called single phase if there are 2 phases coming in?

residential wiring are called single phase because the 2 phases coming in are one is neutral and the other is line.the neutral has a potential zero with ground and it is to provide a closed path for the current to flow through..the line is having a potential of 230V with the ground and a line together with a neutral is called a phase

Voltage across Neutral and earth for a 3 phase auto transformer?

A grounded neutral will be at earth potential. A floating neutral will be at a voltage dependent upon the voltage imbalance between phases, and the design of the transformer.

What colour is a live wire in Australia?

A live wire in Australia is typically red or brown in color. It is important to always consult with a licensed electrician or refer to local electrical codes for specific information.

What materials were used to make the first electric doorbell?

A bell, a coil with an iron core, a striker-spring, a fixed switch-contact and two brass terminals were probably all mounted on a polished or varnished wooden base.

The bell was probably made of brass, the spring of the striker was probably made of tempered steel and its "pole-piece" was probably a small piece of iron mounted about half-way along the striker-spring.

One end of the striker-spring was fixed to the wooden base-board of the bell. The other end of the striker-spring probably carried a small piece of brass mounted so as to strike the bell. That small piece of brass was called the "striker".

The coil was probably made of very thin insulated copper wire wound around an iron core.

The striker-spring also carried a switch contact which could touch the fixed switch-contact (which was mounted on the base-board) only when the striker was at rest i.e. when its pole-piece was not being attracted to the iron core of the coil.

The electric bell's circuit was probably set up to connect the "+" side of the battery to one terminal of the bell-push. The other terminal of the bell-push was connected to one of a pair of brass terminals mounted on the base-board and that terminal was connected to the striker-spring's switch-contact.

The fixed switch-contact on the base-board was connected to one end of the coil. The other end of the coil was connected to the other brass terminal from where it was connected to the "-" side of the battery.

The battery might have been put into a separate battery box if it was made up from some 'C' cells or similar. If they didn't use small cells they may have used an old-style very heavy glass "accumulator" and it would probably have been placed on the floor somewhere out of the way, such as in a larder or a pantry.

When the bell-push was pressed, current flowed:

  • from the battery to the striker-spring's contact and then
  • via the contact fixed to the base-board to
  • the coil, so that
  • its iron core would be magnetized and
  • it attracted the striker's pole-piece.
  • That made the striker (on the "free" end of the striker-spring) strike the bell and also the
  • contacts opened to break the circuit, allowing the striker, under the influence of its spring, to
  • move away from bell and the coil's core.
  • This "going-back" movement of the striker would re-connect the circuit (via the striker-spring's moving switch-contact and the base-board's fixed switch-contact) and
  • the coil's core would again attract the striker-spring's pole-piece and thus
  • ring the bell again and also break the circuit again.

Those "to-and-fro" movements of the striker-spring would continue to ring the bell for as long as the bell-push was pressed.

Why is it necessary to upgrade old electrical outlets?

Older style wires and cables are not as safe as the current types used for house wiring.

For example, older insulation becomes brittle with age and can break when the wire is moved. Newer wiring is a lot more flexible and can handle age much better than the old insulation.

Newer wiring specifications require that all circuits include a connection to ground, older outlets do not have that requirement. Newer outlets are far safer, not just because of the ground wire but because of the plug polarity that has been introduced to the newer standard.

Why is a fuse important?

a fuse is important because if there is a overload of energy the fuse will take it in and if the fuse blows it means there is a problem or a thecnical problem with that source. a fuse can be found in a series circuit.

Why do cell phones lose reception in some buildings?

because the walls are thick enough to stop the radio waves going to and from the cell phone.

As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed.

Before you do any work yourself,
on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances,
always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.

IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOB
SAFELY AND COMPETENTLY
REFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.

What kind of motor can you use to make a homemade wind generator?

For demonstration purposes you could use an ordinary small DC motor - like the kind used in a model railway engine, a toy motor car or model boat - driven by a light plastic propellor. Connect the motor to a flashlight bulb of about the same voltage as the motor.

You must be sure there is enough wind to drive the propellor and, to get the bulb to light up, you may have to try several different experimental set-ups. You will probably have to try using several different sizes of propellor along with various sizes of small flashlight bulb.

Another set of opinions

Wind is the Primary source for Generting power In case of Wind Energy System. Its a fact that Wind energy is not constant but variable, So We cannot Use conventional Synchronous Generator For power generation.Instead We Have to Use a variable Speed Prime mover. for eg. A Wind Turbine. It depends on Wind Velocity and uses the Kinectic Energy of wind for rotation. Since the Prime mover is running at Variable speed we need to connect a Asynchronous Generator to it which is an Induction Generator. All things I Said above are basics, i mean the Old technology. Today its almost outdated because as the It is Asynchronous Generation we cannot connect to our conventional Grid System, instead we Have to use it as a isolated power System. But Thanks to the modern Technology which is Pitch Control Techinque, ie, The blade angle of Prime mover Changes w.r.t wind nd Speed of turbine is maintained constant irespective of wind Velocity. Therefore now a day we can use Synchronous Generator In Wind power System.

Then going to the question asked, a ordinary Toy Car motor which Is DC that Runs on battery can be used For make An model of wind Power System For An exhibition purpose. In Real System the Prime Mover is wind Turbine not Motor that Runs the Generator.
