No it isnt. Some emos are emo because they just want to be different. Some emos are emo because they feel a certain way. Some emos are gay but that doesnt mean they are all gay.

Hi, I have really thick, frizzy, curly hair. I got side bangs and suprisingly they aren't that hard to maintain. I basically straiten my hair everyday because I don't really like my curls, but even if I like put it up in a messy bun or something I just take my Chi and straighten my bangs. It only takes like 5 mins. So if you want my opinion I think that it wouldn't be that bad to get side bangs.

My chemical romance is not emo they have just been- as Gerard way (lead singer) puts it- associated with a bunch of emo crap. They where also once called- vampire rock. (they only have one song about vampires- vampires will never hurt you) my chemical romance was a band created to save peoples lives not distroy them. -Be yourself, don't take anyones s**t, and never let them take you alive. (Gerard way) There is a difference between emo- cutting yourself, sitting in dark corners, and stinking- and emo STYLE- black clothes, emo hair cut, ect.- My chem is emo style on stage but do wear colors off stage!! As for their music, it is poetic. In 'Thank you for the venom' Gerard says- "love is the red the rose on your coffin door"- poetic. or in 'The Sharpest Lives' (a very poetic song) he says "A light to burn all the empires

Being Emo is something impossible for anyone to do. Emo does not stand for "emotional". The original version of emo is short for "emotional hardcore", which is a sub-group of punk. No one can be music.
Most people mistake being Emo as doing self harm. This is not the case because this is a Depression issue and has nothing to do at all about being "Emo". There are plenty of other people (Unfortunately) that harm themselves and do not belong to this sub culture/group at all. -Sky Jenson
Most people play around these days and calling people emo for having black nails, or your bangs in front of your face, or wearing alot of black clothes. that would be like saying, " Is puberty normal?" Emo is just like any other stereotype. A teenager goes through it and at some point in heir life, they grow out of it. So. yes. emo is very normal.

BOYS: Having medium long hair helps a LOT. The bangs should go in a diagonal line across your face, covering one eye. The hair on the sides should be brushed in towards your face. If you have long hair at the back, use some gel/hairwax and brush it to the side. Spikes in the back looks really emo too, goes well with dyed black hair with the yellow "banana stripe".
