Without sounding like im trying to inforce a negative steriotype alot of emo's suffer from low self esteem and depression this makes them feel unattracted so in an attemp to lose weight they take on an eating disorder but they are no more likely to get an eating disorder than a none emo with love self esteem. Its actually just called Emo-phobia. And it's the fear of Emo, suicide and/or bad comb-overs. Its also the fear of becoming Emo.

It's true I'm emo and i's not so weird!

You THINK you might be into S & M? Who would know better than you? At any rate, whatever floats your boat, man.... Only you can determine that, though. So, let's say you are into all of that. Fine. I would say as long as you aren't 13 or something, no big deal. If you are very young, I would kind of tap the brakes a bit, and not try to catagorize yourself yet. Wait and see if this is something you feel strongly about, say when you are 21. By then if you are into it, you are pretty much into it. As long as you are not killing anybody, and the acts you engage in are consentual, who can say anything about it? Understand that your parents may not share the same feelings about the situation as you do. And that's OK. They have a right to have an opinion, too. Don't try to convince them to think like you, it won't happen. Tell them that this is who you are. Just as they chose a heterosexual relationship, you have the right to make your own choice. Give them time to adjust, and keep the level of communication open. They will eventually come around to at least respecting your lifestyle. They may never agree with it, but do they really have to? totally! i'm African american as well. you can do what i do (wash, blow dry, flat iron) or whatever gets it straight. u can also get a texturizer, which is a very mild perm. as for no heat, lots of ribbons, headbands, clips and bows will be fine. if you want teased scene hair, straighten, and then tease! simple as that.( you can look up how to tease it, there are videos too) you also can get the layers, but i dont recommend it. my hair looks cute just plain, with scene-ey cloths as well. oh, and i dont have a perm.

I only know of two types of "Emo". It can mean one who physically harms themselves for depressional reasons, or it can be a style such as dark eyeliner, skinny jeans, etc.

Inside you still feel a bit depressed and when you see these cuts you think about how you felt when you broke up with your boyfriend. Either that or your emo or what you are doing is an addiction and you need to stop right away!¡!¡!¡!¡

Alice in Chains are NOT emo. They are an alternative metal/grunge band from the 90's.

Although you obviously care about this person's welfare, your first responsibility is to yourself. If staying with this person is causing you problems or if you simply don't love her anymore, you owe it to yourself to be able to move on. If your ex goes "emo", chances are she would head that way anyway eventually. But you could let someone know that she's in a fragile position. Talk to her mother, father, teacher, school counselor...someone who can help her. It is not your responsibility to keep your ex from "going emo", but you can lead her to help.

"Emo" girls are not all bisexual. The term "emo" means that a person curts and/or hurts them self intentionally. Sexual orientation subject to bullying can lead a person to cutting, but this is not always true.

Lately it had been the "cool" thing to do; say you are bisexual. (most girls that say this are not, they just want the attention) Another "cool" thing to do is be "emo" or "scene". Some people genuinely do cut/hurt themselves because of emotional grief or pain or ridicule, while many young women do it seeking attention; though they are gaining all the wrong kind.
