Lethal injection is administered to people on death row. It is a form of punishment usually reserved for murderers. Euthanasia is administered to sick people who are suffering horribly from some incurable disease. It allows them to die perhaps months before they otherwise would; thereby saving them those months of suffering.

A person that feels he/she has no further interest in keeping on living or as a result of an illness is not able to terminate life should have the right to ask assistance in ending their own life. the good in it is that it puts an end to the suffering of the person concerned. as well as drawing to an end the pain that is experienced by his/her family and other carers.

Of coarse value behind that argument is always up to the thoughts of the individual. There are several ways you can look at this question. Naturally the first way to look at it is from your own point of view you may feel that if life is not worthwhile to you any more as a result of let us say pain that is being suffered as a part of a terminal illness it makes sense that you should be able to say no more this is not worth putting up with any more so you get your medic or friend to help you shuffle the mortal coil so to speak. The problem with this sort of thinking however is that it is human nature to try to perfect and expand on everything. The first thing that will happen is that there will be specialists that will take care of this problem as most doctors would rather not have anything to do with this side of the patients treatment, After this it will be only a matter of time before euthanasia is allowed as a result of the patient having some time in the past alluded to their agreement to being euthanized after they had lost the ability to give express permission to have this done. With an aging population more and more people are going to prove to be a drain on the treasuries coffers, so chances are that the government is going to be behind this as it will save them a lot of money. The next line of thinking will be that at a certain time the decision to terminate will be made by a board with the aid of the patient's doctor or doctors. This can put the power of life and death in the hands of a few medics. And you may end up in situations where people are dispatched as the result of corrupt deals between beneficiaries and authorised doctors, like some of the deals that were made in the past by mental health professionals where by a person could disappear into a mental asylum while the family took over control of their assets. I know people are helped on their way and it is done quietly and because those involved feel there is no other way out and I don't particularly hold it against them. However while I agree with euthanasia I disagree with it being legalised and institutionalised. There are many more ways that this question may be looked at philosophically, ethically and in the context of religion, however without writing a book about it I would have to say in the end that I both agree and disagree with euthanasia. Like capital punishment the overall impression I have is that while it can be tempting to kill some one for the best of reasons, when it boils right down to it is always wrong.

If an animal is in an irrepairable state, and is in pain, then it is humane to put it to sleep. In the Australian Veterinary industry a drug called "Lethabarb" is used. It is also known as the "green dream" as it is coloured green. Lethabarb is just the brand name and Pentobarbitone Sodium is the actual chemical. If you are worried that the animal goes through any pain in this process, don't be. Remember, the aim of it is to stop the animals pain. Basically the chemical causes the animal to fall asleep and their heartbeat slows continually until it stops completely.

You don't suffer from euthanasia, you do it or is is done to you. If a person says they want to die and can't do it for themselves, should someone do it for them. That's a tough one with no clear cut answer. Morals, laws, social pressures, personal feelings about it all make it a difficult question. Personally, if I know the person well enough, what their true feelings are or it has been discussed, I wouldn't have a problem helping them end their life. Doing it without going to jail is the tricky part. The way society is today, unfortunately, about all you can do is make sure the person involved has a medical power of attorney or a living will and hope the medical people honor it. Most places, you just have to let nature take it's course.

The option of euthanasia should be open to all who qualify for it. The withholding of euthanasia flies in the face of common humanity to a fellow sentient being. The process should involve the patient and/or his representative, and his doctor.

That depends on what injuries the person has and why they were on life support. It could be a few minutes to a few days. I suggest asking your doctor.

obviously it will, who wants to die? besides gothics and emos and depressed people...but that's beside the point, medical science will keep looking for ways to prolong life for as long as humans are selfish and want to live forever.

Well this drug is amitted throught a vain, in the arm or neck. Some products distories the calcium level in your blood which causes something to die. some other drug causes the animals heart to stop. Most of your euthanization drug stop the heart. Some of the drugs used in surgical anesthesia.

assisted suicide is when someone wnts to die and you help them, mercy killing is when someone doesnt have a say in whether they die or not but would be better off dead(its illegal unless a doctor does it)

Christianity views euthanasia as a sin. God has given you the gift of life and it would be wrong for you to reject that gift by killing yourself. Even if you are suffering, that too is part of God's mysterious plan. Right?

Figured you needed a response. Having someone kill you. That's what you are asking. Should be easy enough, but finding something to give you interest in living is probably just as easy and less trouble for the other person. If you are still healthy, you may just need some help to get out of the pit. Been there more than once. A lot of seniors get depressed, that's one of the many less than wonderful things about getting older. Comes with the territory. I believe everyone has the right to check out when the time is right, I just wonder if now is really the right time for you ? Talk to your doctor and tell him you are feeling down and you wonder if there was something he or she could give you to lift your spirits. What have you got to lose by asking ? Ending it is so permanent.
