Well all piercings involve some discomfort an minor split second pain. It comes down to your mind set, if you really want the piercing pain is not an option and should not deter you from getting what you want. Mind over matter, if you don't mind the pain doesn't matter.

After you get it pierced, your nose might hurt for a little bit, but as long as you don't play with it the pain will go away fairly quickly.

When you change the jewellery later it might also hurt a bit, depending on A] how well you take pain and B] if the piercing is fully healed. You'll want to wait a few weeks until you change the jewellery so that you don't cause unnecessary pain or an infection.

When you clean it it might hurt if the piercing is fairly new or if you use the wrong kind of soap.

Overall, nasal piercings can cause a fair amount of pain, but they makeup for it in beauty tenfold.

Everyone is different. If you have a lower pain threshold, then obviously it will hurt more. For me, the worst part of getting my tongue pierced was having to hold my tongue out while the piercer got the barbell and I drooled down the bib they gave me. It really isn't as painful as it looks. Even after it only feels like when your muscles ache after working out. 90% of people's tongues swell when they get pierced and it can last from 2 days to 2 weeks, 90% of people who swell, it only lasts around the 2-5 day range.

It's a piercing, it's going to hurt to some extent. However, when it comes to the tongue piercing most people I have talked to say that the most painful part of the piercing was the day after when the swelling sometimes pinched their tongue between the barbells. However, it should be noted that you are shoving a steel spike through your body with any piercing and then you are inserting a steel rod in an open wound... It's probably going to hurt.

for me it didnt hurt at all when i got it done but a few hours later it did, but like the guy above said it only felt like a muscle ache, i took 2 ibuprophen and almost all the pain was gone :)

Get an aspirin, and put one to two drops of water on it (enough to make it into a paste), put this on the openings of the piercing (with the ring still in tact), and turn the ring (hoop, if it's a short barbell, move it up and down to get it in the hole a bit). Put your iron on WARM! Then get paper toweling. Place the terry towel on your ironing board, put the paper toweling over it and press with the iron for 6 - 7 seconds. It will melt the wax (you may have to do this several times until all wax is melted.) If the wax is red or any other color and your terry towel is white, you could then put it in cold water with a little bleach and let it soak for approx. 20 mins.

Use your hair dryer to melt the wax slightly. After peeling the wax up, apply a spray cleaner to remove the residue. The same cleaner that you use to remove soap scum from the tub should work just fine.

That's different for everyone. You can promote healing by massaging the area with oil. Jojoba and vitamin E oil work well. If you wanna keep it open but have work or something, you can try a retainer. Surface piercings that old usually take a while to close. But then again, I dont know how you heal and it could close up within an hour.

as it was said be sure to let it heal sufficiently. Make sure your hand are clean and dry, and that you're in an area with good light to see in case the ball falls. Grip it firmly between two fingers and twist - it might take a while depending on how tight the piercer put it on.

it's actually illegal to numb anything from the neck up for piercings, but they may spray something on the local area, that kind of numbs the area of skin slightly, they used this for all of my piercings, but I'm not sure what exactly it is.
