So far, there are nine books....."A touch of Dead" is supposedly a compilation of all the sookie stackhouse books....i dunno how CH did it but she did. So, the continuation (official 10th book) will be released nxt yr (May 2010, i think). Also, I've read somewhere that she signed on for 3 more sookie novels....so maybe 12 in total?

There are 10 Sookie Stackhouse novels at the moment. Charlaine Harris has signed a contract to write at least 3 more. She is not sure if she will write more after that, though.

She has a willingness to speak her mind, friendliness, caring, and she breaks prescribed gender roles.
