What happens in the first 2 weeks of pregnancy?
The first two weeks of a pregnancy, actually happens before conception, as your body, first sheds the uterine lining from the previous cycle - starting with day one of menstruation. Once menstruation stops the lining begins to replace itself and several follicles on each ovary begin to mature.
In the first days after menstruation ends, the cervical mucus stays thick to prevent any bacteria from entering the uterus. As your body prepares to ovulate, the cervical mucus becomes thin and slippery, your cervix drops forward and the Os opens slightly to allow sperm to enter the uterus. The fluid in the semen and cervix will now preserve and nourish any sperm healthy enough to go the distance - as they wait for up to five days for the first ovum to become ripe and the ovarian follicle to rupture with a single ova ready to join with the first sperm cell that breaks through the cell's surface. You are now about half way through your monthly cycle.
Once ovulation occurs and a single sperm out of the millions in a normal ejaculation breaks through the membrane of the mature ova - they become one - instantly developing a protective barrier so no other sperm can enter the fertilized ovum. The Os closes, the cervix backs up, fresh cervical mucus develops into a mucus plug that sits tight in the Os until the woman is ready to deliver - this prevents anything foreign from entering the uterus - as progesterone tells the uterus not to break down it's fresh, new lining.
Chemical and hormonal activity do an amazing synchronized dance - as these two cells merge fully encoded with all the information that goes into making a baby; the gender, eye & hair color, body build and height, even the baby's IQ, and all the organs this baby will need to be fully functioning, prior to birth - are in place and waiting their turn to make this into a human being from the moment of conception. In these first days the two cells are dividing rapidly, separating and getting into order. Our amazing hormones protect this tiny group of cells, days before our conscious self has any awareness of the new life growing within.
As the cells continue to divide, they are now formed into a blastocyst that works it's way from the fallopian tube to the uterus, as it does a free-fall into the uterine cavity it will grab onto the lining of the uterine wall. Just days after conception this gives some women their first inkling they may be pregnant, as their baby-to-be implants itself - the woman may experience cramping or light spotting shortly before the time their period should be due. Following this, most woman start developing early symptoms of pregnancy - breast tenderness, fatigue, nausea and hormonal shifts that turn their moods 180 degrees in the blink of an eye. All caused by the defining hormone of pregnancy hCG(human chorionic gonadotropin)
Prior to implanting into the uterus, about 6 days after conception - the mass of cells had developed into 3 distinct layers. One that becomes the placenta, which will nourish and protect this new person for the remainder of the pregnancy - the umbilical cord, which is the lifeline between mother and baby - and the baby itself - All this happens before most women even know they have conceived!
Once the early placenta starts growing, hCG is being produced and rising quickly, from it's normal level of 0 to 5 - it will double every 72 hours and in just a few days it reaches 25mIU/ml - a serum level that is the standard laboratory proof of a an early pregnancy - two or three days later the level will reach a strong enough urine concentration to trigger a positive result in the HPT / EPT. Usually between 50mIU/ml and 100mIU/ml depending on the sensitivity of the brand of testing device. The hormone will continue to rise for 11 weeks, as it protects and cares for your growing baby - until the placenta is fully functioning and takes over at 12 weeks - the start of the second trimester.
Two weeks after conception your baby to be is just .078" - although not yet visible there is already movement in the developing main blood vessels and arm and leg buds have started to grow. A little tiny miracle in the making.
What does it mean when a baby is born in amniotic sac?
According to ancient times and based on some info I found by doing a Goggle search, it means the child will be lucky, prophectic like, and have great clairvoyance. It is also called being norm in the "caul". I was interested in this too because my son was born in the sac last year.
Toxins can harm a developing fetus?
Absolutely YES! Substances of good/bad can be transported from what is inhale by the mother to the fetus by the process of "blood flow from the mother to the fetus" or entering the umbilical cord to the fetus .
If at 7 weeks pregnant there is no yoc sac is that ok?
I am afraid that it is likely you have misscarried. Talk to your doctor about this and deal with it right away. While I was pregnant with my son we did an ultrasound at 3 weeks and we couldn't see anything but an empty sac they told me they had thought I'd lost the baby. We waited 2 weeks to make sure before coming to a conclusion and there he was with a heartbeat and everything I just ended up not being as far along as they had origionally thought I was at this point only 3 and a half weeks. Then later at what we thought was my 12 week checkup they couldn't find a heart beat via Doppler but it was because of my uterus being tilted. All in all he was born healthy and on time and I am grateful. If this is a lost baby I am very sorry as it is devistaing at this point. All I can say is that I hope your wrong and not as far as you are thinking and you will have a healthy baby in the long run.

Is it normal for a baby to be kicking all the time?
It's a good thing that your baby kicks, it will always tell you that he or she's doing fine! It might be painful and uncomfortable but the baby is fine, he/she is just active, so be prepared for when he/she turns 2!
Teratogen how do they get to the foetus?
Teratogens get to the fetus like anything the mother consumes does, through the blood and through the umbilical cord. If a mother consumes food, she also shares that foods nutrients with her fetus as well. Same way with teratogens (alcohol, tobacco, drugs, etc), when she consumes or imbibes them.
What if your water breaks at 20 weeks can the baby survive?
No they can not. There has been a few cases in this world but in general no.
The question was water breaking, not birth. Yes, your baby can survive. The hospital will put you on bed rest, repress birth with drugs and inject you with steroids to promote faster growth. As long as you can hold of giving birth for as many weeks as possible, there is a good chance the baby can survive.
Can a non-viable pregnancy turn into a viable pregnancy?
There may be a chance, you should have a follow-up ultrasound if the pregnancy is IN your uterus. If it's an abdominal or ectopic(tubal) then the answer is no.
Can you be pregnant if you can not detect a heart beat in moms uterus?
The fetus's heart doesn't start beating for a while, before the heart is properly developed, so if you are pregnant but there is no heartbeat, it means you are in the very early stages of pregnancy
Does the heart or brain develop first in the fetus?
Both the same time but the brain functions before the heart pumps
Can you tell the sex of your baby by doing a litmus test on the mom like they did decades ago?
No, this isn't accurate. The best way to determine the sex of your baby is by having a ultrasound from 16 weeks.
What is the frequency of triplet births?
Chance of having 'natural' triplets: 1 in 8,100 (only about 30% of triplets are 'natural') There has been an increase in multiple births in recent years. Since 1980, infertility treatment has more than doubled the American twin birth rate. The rate of triplet or more births is now nearly 5 times higher than before infertility treatment was used.

What does a baby look like at nineteen weeks after conception.?
You are now 19 weeks pregnant -- almost halfway there! Nineteen weeks into your pregnancy, your baby is about 5.2 to 6 inches long and weighs about 7 ounces (about the weight of an average orange).
Your baby is now able to make conscious muscle movements, such as sucking his or her thumb, in addition to involuntary muscle movements. This week, you may feel these movements, which are known as quickening. This may feel as if you have butterflies or a growling stomach; a lot of first-time mothers may not feel the classic kicking until they are 26 weeks pregnant.
Is it normal to not be showing at 30 weeks?
Yes it's normal for you and many others. It was not normal for me who blew up as a balloon when I hit second trimester. My point is that every woman is different. Some are close to give birth and still it's hard to say whether they are pregnant or not. Trust the doctor when he says everything is normal.
How do you know if you had twin and absorbed it when your mother was pregnant with you?
You cannot "absorb" someone.
Can a baby give birth to another baby?
The baby has to reach a mature age for its reproductive organs to be able to produce a spawn.
