What period of development does baby assume fetal position?
Babies typically assume the fetal position during the third trimester of pregnancy, around 28 weeks gestation. In this stage, they have limited space to move within the uterus, leading them to curl up with their knees drawn to their chest and arms folded. This position is natural and provides comfort as the baby prepares for birth. After birth, newborns often continue to exhibit this position as a reflexive behavior for security and warmth.
What are two factors that influence the amount of nutrients that can pass from mother to fetus?
Two key factors that influence the amount of nutrients passing from mother to fetus are the placenta's efficiency and the mother's nutritional status. The placenta acts as a barrier and facilitator, regulating the transfer of nutrients based on its structure and function. Additionally, if the mother is well-nourished, she is more likely to provide adequate nutrients; conversely, maternal malnutrition can limit the availability of essential nutrients for fetal development.
What is when a fetus does not develop a skull?
When a fetus does not develop a skull, a condition known as anencephaly occurs. This neural tube defect results in the absence of a major portion of the brain, skull, and scalp. Anencephaly is typically diagnosed during pregnancy through ultrasound and is often associated with significant developmental challenges, leading to a very limited lifespan after birth. The exact cause is not fully understood, but genetic and environmental factors may play a role.
What if your baby moving lot in the ninth month is it good?
In the ninth month of pregnancy, increased fetal movement is generally a positive sign, indicating that your baby is active and likely healthy. However, it's important to monitor the type of movement; if you notice a sudden decrease or any unusual changes, you should contact your healthcare provider. Overall, consistent movement can be reassuring as you approach labor.
What does it mean if your 6 week old baby is low in your womb?
it just means that you're "carrying low". Or the bump where the baby is is going to be lower on your body, so the lower part of your tummy will stick out.

Is the baby survive if she was born 3 weeks early than the due date?
Yes 37 weeks is considered full term
When does the sex of the baby occur?
The earliest an ultrasound can possibly determine the gender of a fetus is 12 weeks. Most doctors won't attempt to determine the gender until 16-20 weeks. Unlike amniocentesis, ultrasound genderizing isn't an exact science. Depending on the way the baby lays, it can be difficult to see the genitals. Some radiologists will influence the baby to move into a different position to catch a glimpse, or you could consume something containing sugar to make the fetus more active. Amniocentesis, if you have to have one done, determines the gender through chromosomal analysis and this is fool-proof.
Other answers from contributors:
It really depends on you. If you are a more slender woman that yes, chances are you will be able to hear the baby's heart beat. I heard my second child's heartbeat at 8 weeks, and with my first at 6 weeks, both were my initial appointments with my doctor. But if you dont hear it until 16 weeks, dont worry, it is not uncommon. It does not mean the baby is not doing well.
Can the kidneys develop in a fetus after 15 weeks of gestation?
Im not quite sure why your asking this question...But if the reason being is, the u/s didnt show the kidneys. It is not because they are not there. And it is only due to the technology of the u/s machine or the tech her/himself. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and around my 20th week u/s the tech said she could not see the kidneys but not to worry because this exact case comes along everyday. The kidneys are just too small at this point. and Sure enough at my next u/s which probably was around 24 weeks there were the kidneys. Good Luck I hope this answer helped
What are the three stages of prenatal development?
24 hours after fertilization:the single celled egg has split into two identical sister cells
32 hours after fertilization:the two identical sister cells have divided into four cells
36 hours after fertilization: the egg has divided into eight cells
4 days after fertilization: embryo enters the uterus at the morula stage of development
6-7 days after fertilization:the egg enters the blastula stage
7-8 days after fertilization:the blastula hatches from the pelucida
2 weeks after fertilization: the blastocyst elongates and comes in contact with the uthrine wall
14-16 days after fertilization: binucleate cells begin to differnentiate in the trophoblast
16 days afer fertilization:
20 days after fertilization: the embryo's heart begins to beat
30 days after fertiliziation: the embryo is about a ½ inch long
31-42 days after fertilization:major growth is taking place
42 days after the fertilization:the embryonic period is at an end and it is about 1½ inches long
60 days after fertilization: the fetus is about 4 inches long and eyes, eyelids, and nostrils can be identified
3 months after fertilization:the fetus is about 10 inches long and fine hair is visible on the head

Are there parasites that can control human behavior?
The parasite Toxoplasma gondii, can only reproduce in the guts of cats. The larvae infect the brains of rats, affecting the regions controlling fear, causing the rats to become fearless. They thus get eaten by cats and the cycle starts again.
Humans can also become infected by this same parasite, and in some areas nearly the entire population is infected. Scientists are studying whether there are any significant differences in these populations than others regarding personality disorder rates among other things. Those infected appear to be more reckless. It's been theorized that the parasite originally infected humans during cave man days and controlled their brains in the same way, so that we could be eaten by large predator cats (so that they can reproduce in their guts).
It makes one wonder how much we still don't know. It's possible this and maybe other parasites have infected us and changed and controlled our behavior for possibly millenia. There are fungi that infect ants and control their brains ... causing them to go to the nest where they infect other ants. There are also parasites that infect caterpillars brains and control them like puppets. Nature is awesome and sometimes very scary.
Where does the blood in a baby come from?
Where does the blood of a fetus come from, the father or mother?
Each of us makes our own blood. We start making components of the blood at about 2 weeks after conception.
The genetics of blood type etc. is a mixture representing the genetics of both father and mother.
When do you have your first ultrasound?
If you are pregnant most OBs will do a "beginning" ultrasound around 8-10 weeks to confirm pregnancy and to date the pregnancy. Then around 18-20 weeks they do the "Big" Ultrasound and they look at the features, the Heartrate, and other things to determine the health of the fetus. This is also the ultrasound where you can possibly find out the babies sex should you want to...

Do twin pregnancies develop at the same rate as single pregnancies?
Yes, twins grow at the exact same rate. The average twin birth is at 37 weeks and they may be a little smaller than average. I had my twins at 36 weeks because I had high blood presssure, my daughter was 6ib 3 oz which is what a single baby at 36 weeks would be, her brother had been affected by my high blood pressure and weighed 4lb 15 oz, but now 17 years later it is apparent that he is naturally lighter. They are both 5'9" but she is still the larger. They are both extremely healthy and doing well at school. A friend (from twins club) had identcal twin girls 2 months after I did. She went to 41 weeks and the girls weighed 7lb 9oz and 7lb 13oz. Good Luck, twins are the hardest work, but the most fun. Yes she is correct. Twins develop atthe same rate but tend to have a shorter gsational time with the average being 37 weeks. Also, A mono-fetal pregnancy has an average birth weight of about 3Kg. With twins, the average is about 2.7Kg. Good luck and keep us posted! Pam
You are 38 weeks pregnant baby weight is 2700 gms is it ok?
The baby weighs slightly over 5 pounds, which is a little on the small side for 38 weeks but as long as s/he is continuing to gain weight in the womb, that is fine. You may just make small babies that are 100% fine.
Even the best scans at this point is estimating the size of the baby and it happens frequently that the baby may be 2 or more pounds heavier than the scan shows.
If you have any risk factors such as smoking or alcohol the baby may be on the small side due to a placenta that is feeling the strain. Keep in close contact with you doctor if this is the case.
