Does a fetus really grow a full coat of fur in the womb and maintain it for weeks?
Yes it does.
About four months into a normal nine-month pregnancy, when the fetus is about 5.3 inches (135 mm) long and weighs about 6 ounces (170 g). Fine hair forms on the upper lip. Gradually, over the next month or so, this fine hair spreads to eventually cover the entire body! The unborn baby remains completely hairy for many weeks.
This soft, hairy coat is called lanugo. The word is from the Latin lan and means "wooly down". This hair suit is shed before or soon after birth. Each hair of the lanugo is shed one by one and is then swallowed by the baby. The tiny hairs join mucus, bile, and other products to form a black substance called meconium. Just after birth, this meconium is excreted by the newborn in its first bowel movement.
My date of conception was August 8 2008 so how far along am i?
As of September 19, 2008 (this Friday), you should be 8 weeks along. Gestation is calculated (at first) by counting forward from the first day of your last period, and date of conception is typically assumed to be 14 days (2 weeks) after that date. A more accurate date can be given by the Sonographer at your first ultrasound, by measuring the size of your fetus.

Does a fetus eat and use the bathroom through the same entrance?
Not really. While in utero, a fetus receives all nutrition and eliminates some waste through the umbilical cord. The fetus can and does, however, urinate through it's urinary tract when it is developed. The amneotic fluid that the fetus floats in and is protected by, is mostly it's own urine.
I am no doctor but I am sure it is nothing to worry about, I am 18 weeks pregnant and for a while now I have gotten the same pain from time to time. I was also concerned so I did some reading, I am almost positive It is round ligament pain. round ligaments are attached to each side of the upper uterus and to the pelvic side wall. As the uterus grows these ligaments are stretched and pulled, they sometimes cause discomfort on one side or both sides. It's nothing to worry about, just a sign your uterus is growing :). It helps to lay down a rest, but remember if the pain is severe it's always a good idea to talk to your doctor.
When your pregnant can you see the babys heartbeat in your stomach?
