It means theres a fault with the electronic power steering. DO NOT ignore as it can fail at any moment leaving your car with no steering!!!

Most of the basic fiat models mark 1 and 2 don not have temperature gauges.

They have a light on the dashboard that comes on if the temperature

gets too high in the engine,hope this answers your question.

All the higher spec puntos have a separate temperature gauge beside the petrol gage.

check your ex manifolds could be a broken bolt or bad seal between block and manifold

looking inside the engine bay from the front of the car it is in the right inner wing (usually has a blue cap)

if its on a punto gt is a lot of work.have to remove inlet manifold costs a lots for the job to be done in a garage.

If I recall, it's at the front of the engine compartment right underneath (to the right)your the placard with the belt diagram. Just be sure to make sure your battery is disconnected and wait five minutes before you monkey with it.

Not being funny but buy an Haynes manal. I have just replaced my belt but it was on a 2004 1.2 Punto active sport. The hardest thing was removing the timing belt covers. The right engine mount needs to come off along with the offside wheel and plastic wheel guards in the wheel arches. The alternator belt can then be removed along with the crankshaft bottom pulley. You may need to loosen the crank sensor to get clearance. Jack up the right side of the engine putting a piece of wood between the jack and the sump. This is to allow the right engine mount to be removed completely there is some sensors at the top of the cambelt covers that need disconnecting now you can remove the covers in two halves, be careful as there is some sensor wires running down the side of the cover which need removing carefully. Now you are ready for the belt removal. Set the engine to tdc on cylinder one this is where the manual comes in handy. What I did was mark the belt and pulleys with a dot of tippex adjascent to each other and slackened the tensioner removing the belt. When I came to mark the new belt with my tippex marks I found the belt was already marked adjascent to the timing marks. I refitted the belt ensuring all the marks still lined up and tensioned the belt using a pair of longreach angled pliers tightening up the bolt as I did. The manual recomends getting a Fiat dealer to check the tension but said you should be able to turn it 90 degrees with a bit of effort. Turn over the engine four complete turns with the crank bolt to check it doesn't foul anything. Reassembly is as the manual says the reverse of disassembly. One bit of advice is to change the water pump at the same time as sometimes releasing the tension can cause failure of the water pump bearings/seals. A guy on another forum said he could change one in half an hour easy but if you havent done one before allow four hours for tinkling Back to the start though get a manual its a lot easier and still cheaper than paying a garage but if you are not very confident pay someone else to do it for you. get a mechanic mate. its in a difficult position under the engine and the front exhaust has to come off. �100 for a new alternator and 3 hours labour.

The fuse electrical plug should be replaced along with the resistor module and the blower motor (the blower could be pulling too many amps).There is also another fuse box, you have to remove the glove box. It is a white rectangular resister about 3 inches long.

The power steering pump is driven electrically so you could check that the fuse hasn't blown.

The fuses are behind the small recess in the dashboard below and right of the steering wheel in right hand drive 55S. Remove the two crosshead screws at the top to remove this and reveal the fuses.

You can get the wiring diagram in the Fiat Punto Haynes manual which can be bought in Halfords among others.

You have not told us for what bolt or nut ?. There will be almost a whole page of torque settings for that vehicle. Oilpan bolts may be as little as 12 while cylinder head bolts will be around 70 . We have no clue unless you name the bolt.

For mark 1 punto 1993 - 1999

First of all you will need to take off the front bumper to do this you need to remove the front indicators to do this open up the bonnet there is a wire loop holding them in place (one on each side) pull back and release these the indicator should slide forward and the bulb fitting twists and pulls out do this on both sides (you do need to) be careful with the exposed bulbs (as I broke one while trying to refit the bumper) now to remove the bumper undo the bolts (4) on the under side then under each wing inside the inner arch you may need to pull the arch across a bit to get in (2 on each side) these are a pain then the 4 bolts on top of the bumper 2 were exposed when you removed the indicators you may need to undo some screws from each wheel arch usually 1 each side but this changed as the better models came out carefully remove the bumper by pulling it forwards. Now on to the wing. on the side you wish to remove it may be easier to remove the wheel and then the inner arch reach up inside to remove the indicator repeater by unclipping the cover then twist one way and remove the fitting. Now this one is another pain open the front door on the side you are working on in the corner under the seal is an Allen bolt remove this Under the arch should be 3 Bolts Securing the wing under here undo these and there is one bolt on the bracket that holds the front indicator now along the sill there is a large Allen bolt undo this it will be covered it the underseal so you need to crack the seal. now your nearly done woo hoo under the bonnet now these should be the last three bolts you may need to run a Stanley knife along the edge under the bonnet (if the car had the full underseal done) be careful when handleing the removed wing as the edges are extremelly sharp (yes I cut myself)

If your fiat has twin front airbags, the light means that the n/s airbag has been switched off. To switch it on open the n/s door insert key and turn, remove key, and turn on ignition, light should go out.
