Tiffs typically produce larger files because their compression format maintains all the image data. Jpegs are "lossy," meaning their compression format works by discarding some of the data, reducing the number of colors stored in the image.

When using digital graphics on a computer there are many different types of file extensions: .BMP, .GIF, the one you are referring to is called .TIF and stands for Tagged Image Format.

change which information? if you mean to edit the sounds contained in it you need some sort of audio studio software like cool edit to edit the mp3, or or if you mean to alter the text information in the id-tag that gets embedded you can right click on the mp3 file and choose file properties and choose audio information you can edit the text associated with the mp3

Unless the PDF is <15 pages long, the JPEG will be smaller. If the PDF is really short (i.e. a 3-page restaurant menu), then the PDF will be smaller.

If you are running Windows XP: Do a right mouse click on the "Start" Button on screen and then select "Search". Alternately do a left click on "Start": button and then click on "Search" button. A .dv4 file extension is a video file from a CCTV system. The system is produced by Bosch Security Systems. It is only viewable using the Bosch Security system proprietary viewer called Archive Player. This file uses MPEG4 compression. It can contain more than 1 camera angle. All of the different camera views are contained within the one file. There is at least one known issue with this file. It can be password protected. The password is embedded within the backup video so if you don't have the password...you won't be able to view the video file.

The comma-separated values (CSV) file format is a set of file formats used to store tabular data in which numbers and text are stored in plain textual form that can be read in a text editor. Lines in the text file represent rows of a table, and commas in a line separate what are fields in the tables row. Different implementations of CSV arise as the format is modified to handle richer table content such as allowing a different field separator character (necessary if numeric fields are written with a comma instead of a decimal point) or extensions to allow numbers, the separator character, or newline characters in text fields.

Size (in MB) is the main disadvantage.

BMP (.bmp) or Bitmaps are huge image files. By using simple Jpeg (.jpg), PNG (.png) or GIF (.gif) compression you can greatly reduce an image size, especially for web applications.

A bitmap of say, 500,000 Bytes can easily be reduced to some 15,000 Bytes by converting the image to Jpeg and slightly compressing it.

Jpg is also known as JPEG(Joint Photographic Experts Group) .It is a Raster/bitmapped image file format.the exact meaning is that the Jpg image is made up of pixels & each pixel cosists of RGB colors (Red Green Blue).It is used for Comppresion of image file.

File formats and extensions are more or less the same thing. Their importance lies in identifying how to use the file. That is, having a document with the extension .doc or .docx tells the computer that the file needs to be opened using a word processing application. If the file extension (the .XXX) is .jpg for instance, the computer knows that it is an image file and that it should open it with an image viewer.

The JPEG/EXIF file format is optimized for storing photographs like images. It uses lossy compression, RGB, 8 bit per channel, no support for transparency or multiple images, 2D images support. The files are small and as long as the compression is not too great the image quality is almost identical to the original. JPEG images are very common, being supported virtually by every imaging device and image processing software. Due to their small size are ideal for storing, transmitting and embedding photos or similar images.

They are the same things but I have an iPod Touch and an mp3 player but I use the iPod much more because you can have APPS on it :)

JPG and a native (proprietary) RAW format. TIF used to be common, but no more. JPG is a "lossy" compressed format, limited to 8 bits of information per RGB chanel, per pixel. The term "lossy" means that the data isn't completely (1-for-1) restored when it's saved. RAW formats vary, and are highly dependent on the sensor in the camera. Instead of using the firmware in the camera to render the image, you use software in your computer to render the image. The file typically caries 10 bits of information per RGB channel per pixel, or more. This can give you more options for dynamic range (ratio of lightest part of the photo to the darkest), and finer graduation between the colors.
