Take a first step back. This is because it is harder to run backwards than forward. Judge the ball, and figure out if you are coming in on the ball or running out. If the ball is slightly behind you; You may back pedal to get under the ball. If the ball is far behind you; Turn around, and run as you normally would as fast as you can. Keep your eye on the ball, and when you are under it, turn around to make the catch. If you are coming in... Well then charge forward and catch it... The most important thing: DO NOT CATCH A BALL ON THE RUN! RUN 100% TO THE BALL AND WAIT UNDER IT! NO MATTER WHAT YOU ALWAYS have to DROP STEP!! then you judge it and decide weather to keep going back or charge. If it is a line drive then you probably want to play it safe and not dive while charging but if it is a high pop fly if you can this is your chance to make a web gem. If you're out of the water (in a boat, on a pier, etc.) you can use a projectile weapon such as a gun or harpoon, or even an electrical weapon such as a taser.
If you're fishing, reeling the shark in and keeping it out of the water will kill it in a matter of minutes.
If you're in the water, your options are far more limited, as this is the shark's home territory. You'd need a projectile or electrical weapon capable of operating underwater, as it's unlikely you'd be able to kick or punch the shark hard enough to deter its attack, much less kill it.

How do you put new line on a fishing reel without twisting the line?
There are two basic methods, depending on the type of reel. If your reel is the push-button type with a cover over it, it is a spincasting reel. If it is the open style with the metal bail, which looks like a bucket handle, it is a spinningreel. If it has the push-button and no cover, with the line exposed where you can place your thumb on it, it is a baitcastingreel.
By design, spinning and spincasting reels will twist the line. All you can do is load it properly to minimize the twist. You do not want to let the spool spin on a pencil. Lay it flat on the floor. Usually it should have the label facing up. To make sure this is correct, take the reel off of the rod and hold it upside down over the spool. Turn the handle as if you are reeling in line and pay attention to the direction in which it turns. You want the line to be coming off the spool in the same direction. If it is not the same, just flip the spool over on the floor. It may help to go ahead and tie the line to the reel temporarily and watch it go from the spool to the reel slowly to make sure you have it right. If it is right, the part where the line comes off the spool can be directly below the part where it goes onto the reel the whole time. When you're ready to put all the line on, put the reel on the rod and tread the line through the rod first, to make it easier. Remember a little twisting will occur, but not very much.
With a baitcasting reel, just have somebody hold a pencil in the eye of the spool and let it spin while you reel it up.
