How do you remove cillit bang from marble flooring?
I assume that your problem is that coloration added to the Cillit Bang brand name cleaning supply product you used on said marble surface discolored it. This is understandable as marble is a porous material. Try cleaning the surface with hydrogen peroxide, if that doesn't work, try bleach.

How much should you charge to lay ceramic tiles plus labor costs?
When installing ceramic tiles tile setters generally charge 3.00 per sq. ft. - 5.00 per sq ft.
Also depending on the design element if any will affect the price. Labor costs are included in the installation of the price per sq ft .there is no separate additional cost . Typically when providing an estimate for someone I would charge per sq ft or a flat daily rate of about 300.00 which ever makes more sense. meaning I wouldn't go out of my way to install 4 pieces of 12x12 tile for 20.00 instead I would charge my time of about 25.00 per hr. with a minimum charge of about 4hrs.

What brand laminate flooring is best?
I am an independent contrator who has isntalled and sold floor covering for the last 4 yrs. I have installaed hundreds of laminate jobs and I have seen it all. From an installation standpoint and ease of installation I have had the best experiences with Quick Step, Tarkett, and Pergo.
Those three also are my top reccomendations for quality and and they have a good name. My personal favorite is Quick Step by a longshot. I just think it has one of the best overall looks and it snaps in place so easy wich is a big plus if you are doing it yorself. Also, keep in mind that even the best brands sometimes have lower quality woods. Although I Have installed almost every quick step product and I would happily endorse all of them.
Pergo has always been good as well but I don't like some of there cheaper products. Other things to think about is the thickness of the wood wich usually starts at 6 mm with 7mm being the most common.
I recommend anything 8mm or thicker for a more dense sound while walking on it. If you do get something less i would recommend an upgraded pad like quite walk or smat padding especially if you are on concrete.
Armstrong and Dupont are good brands as well. I even like lamipro wich is not as mainstream and may not have the same reputation. But I have sold and installed it for many customers and It has alwayst turned out beautiful and the have good warranties. Also they offer special looks like handscraped and piano finish products for a much better price than some of their competitors.
You can also get best services from jandjgranites.com which will be perfectly fine.

Can you install laminate flooring on concrete?
Absolutely. Laminate flooring is a perfect choice to go over concrete. You need to use a vapor barrier over the concrete and ensure that the concrete is reasonably flat. The concrete should have no dips or bumps of more than 1/8" Laminate is made of laminated HDF board which has imprint on it. HDF or High Density Fiberboard is a compound of the wood dust and particles which are pressed and glued together. All of the boards are laminated from top and bottom. It protects laminate from subfloor moisture and foot traffic. It sounds very promising and logical, but laminate still has two issues:
1) Every board has interlocking click-in system on the edges so material can float over the subfloor. These edges are processed(not always) with the chemicals which stop some water from penetrating into the laminated board. Those chemicals are not perfect making laminate material vulnerable against moisture. With time boards might buckle. It takes a while; you won't see much change after just one year, but with moderate moisture, you will most likely see it during the second year of use.
2) During the laminate installation process, installers have to do several cuts on the edges. These cuts uncover HDF board from the chemicals and laminated parts used for water resistance. Unless you seal or finish every edge with water resistant products, this area stays unprotected and eventually will buckle too. Vinyl material, however, has a huge advantage - it is fully protected against any moisture. Any cuts to the product won't harm the material or reveal any exposed area. Another positive thing about vinyl is the use of underlayment; without it the floor will be too hard for your feet. In general, underlayment for the vinyl floor is made out of foam, which has perfect resistance against moisture or water.
There is a huge advantage of the vinyl over other products, including laminate. It is very important to know what material you're dealing with. Based on the material knowledge, you can analyze different options and see for yourself what material fits your needs better. If the concrete you're covering is in a basement with a higher moisture content, vinyl might be a better option.

Your linoleum floors are dull How can you get the shine back?
go to your local flooring store or hardware store...and ask for a vinyl flooring 'stripper' it will clean your floor very well..then you have to re-wax it to get the shine back..(personal advice...my husband installs flooring for a living..I do it on my hands and knees..not with a mop..follow the directions on the stripper, then be positive to use a very good wax to reshine the floor)
How do you determine if linoleum has asbestos?
Linoleum generally did not contain asbestos but other forms of floor tiles that some people mistakenlycall linoleum, did. The only way to tell whether any building material (floor tile, wall board, insulation, etc.) contains asbestos is to have a sample analysed by a qualified lab. Although a home owner can legally collect a sample in most jurisdictions, proper technique in collecting the sample is important to avoid contaminating the space if the materials does contain asbestos. So it may be best to pay the extra $25-$40 to have a knowledgeable and qualified technician collect the sample and send it to a qualified lab.
The floor of a house that is off the ground is first built with a layer of boards that is at a 45 degree angle to the load centers. To the average person, this layer of boards looks like a floor. However, they are wider than the boards than are normally used to go on the floor. The floor that people walk on will be put on top of these boards. The boards used for the floor will be thinner.

How many sq. ft. are in a tile that is 16 inches x 24 inches?
2.66 Square Feet 1 square foot = 144 Square inches (12" X 12").
To determine square feet (SF), from suare inches (SI), divide the SI by 144.
16" X 24" equals 384 SI
384 / 144 equals 2.666667 SF FORMULA: (W X L) / 144 = SF (where W = Width in inches and L = lenght in inches) Also helpful, to determine Square yards (for carpet, etc.) Divide the Square feet by 9
EXAMPLE 3 feet by 3 feet = 9 SF. 9/9 = 1 Square Yard
10 X 12 room = 120 SF 120/9 = 13.33 SY
11ft 10in x 11ft 4.5in is what in square feet?
First, convert the inches into feet: 10 inches divided by 12 (inches per foot) equals approximately 0.833 feet. 4.5 inches divided by 12 (inches per foot) equals 0.375 feet. Second, add dimensions to the already measured feet: 11 feet plus 0.833 feet = 11.833 feet. 11 feet plus 0.375 feet = 11.375 feet. Third, multiply the two lengths together to find the area: 11.833 feet multiplied by 11.375 feet equals approximately 134.6 square feet.
