Any instrument you lear to play is great, the flute is a bit tough, but it's a wonderful instrument once you get the hang of it...

Piccolo is like a small flute and very high pitched.

Flutes can be made out of different materials. The better the material, the more expensive the flute. One of the most expensive materials is platinum. This is extremely expensive! Sometimes, the mouthpiece/head joint (or both) is made from a better material such as silver, giving the flute a nicer tone. The rest of the flute would usually be silver-plated. A cheaper flute would be made from a material such as nickle. It may then be coated with silver, again adding to the quality of the tone.

There is no spit valve on the Alto Saxophone. There is a spit valve on most Bari Saxophones and Contrabass Saxophones. To remove spit the easiest way is to breath in with your mouth on the mouthpiece as hard as you can. This seems a little unsanitary, but it is the most efficient way, because certain times you will not have more than half a second of a break, and if you have a spittish-tone, you will want to try to get the spit out from inside your mouthpiece.

If you go to a music store that sells and rents out the instrument, they'll let you try them out and see what works best for you. Some brands are harder to play than others for some people.

Well you see, everyone wants a newer flute that plays better not an older, used vintage flute. That's why newer flutes are so expensive! Yours is most likely from the 70's. Since Selmer is a very common and not-so expensive flute brand of flute your best price range is worth around $40-$60.

If you're refering to technique, you blow across the embouchure hole with your mouth shaped almost as if you're whistling. In regards to physics, the sound is produced by means of waves created by the air hitting the walls inside the flute. When certain keys are pressed, the wavelength, and therefore pitch, changes due to the air being let out at a different place.

Someone who has some time they're willing to dedicate to it, and is physically capable of lifting the instrument and putting their arms in position. There isn't really a set personality a flutist needs but you have to be willing to work hard if you want to be serious. But I guess that goes for everything. I've never seen a really lazy person decide to play an instrument.

Well I think you probualy hit it againist something and messed up you flute. Have your band teacher look at it and usually he can fix it unless you are like me. My friend sat on my flute and well it completely bent. Notes never came out right or not at all. So at that point my dad fixed it but I probualy needed a new flute.

Hey there, what I think uou may need to do is clean the pads, clean the inside of the flute and the 'cork' part. Cleaning the cork means you can slide the head joint around easier to make sure it's not just facing an awkward angle for your embouchre. (sometime when mine is stiff, I don't turn it and try to play anyway and it just sounds breathy)

The screws at the end of the rows of keys also come loose often, tighten them with a fingernail or screwdriver, but not too tight or it'll still sound bad- it's trial and error, really. I found not leaving my flute set up whilst I'm not playing it helps, and warming up the flute by breathing down it or playing a long low C. Yeah, when I or my flute are cold, all the notes come out scratchy and quiet...

i have never ever had a venus flute before i have been playing the flute for about a year now this is my second but i have heard venus flutes are a very good brand and they are very pretty and good. getting a venus flute is a GREAT deal.

It all depends on the level. For beginner it is great but for other levels such as intermediate and professional, it is not
